People really have issues with the helmet decal and how the players show their support for each other?

Yes. The school and the football program is a lot bigger than the current players.

 

I gbraduated from Beechwood and played several sports there. If this years team was found guilty of wrongdoing and the coach and AD were reponsible for the wrongdoings and had been doing the same thing for years just to win and the players took the Tiger Paw off their helmets this Friday night to show support for a crooked coach and administration as to say this is what we believe and make that kind of slap in the face to all the past students and athletes who played fair I'd deffinatly have something to say to each and everyone of them.

I can see why. It makes it look as though the current players are apart/above/away somehow from the program/school and its history, whatever that may be. Had I bled in the lines for Fairview 20 years ago I'd be a bit uptight too.

I just look at it as a circle the wagons gesture and decision made by kids.

I can see why people would be upset about taking the "F" off the side of the helmet. You, as a player, are representing your school. For most, there is a sense of pride in your team, school, and program. All those players were brought together as a team for that school, be it legally or illegally. I would have a problem if the players from my school took the insignia off their helmet or uniform, they are a part of something bigger then them, they are part of a program that people put in place for them and that insignia represents all those people, not just this year's team.

Nat McPeek may be the nicest guy in the world but he knowingly and willingly broke the rules. For every action there is a consequence.

There imo is a big difference, schools like Ashland, Russell, Raceland, Belfry, etc. have pride, tradition and Respect for themselves and the school, program. Fairview has.......

Where do you live now? What is your current address and out of curiosity does it match the same one you had two years ago?

I would like to add: how many years were they associated with the Fairview program?

This as well but do we really believe there will be an answer to any of the above ? and if so then what....I'll stop there.

Uh, he didn't answer the follow up questions but that's fine with me. I am not going there with what appears to be a player/kid at Fairview. Besides...NO Kids are at fault here....I am pretty sure that everyone knows where the guilt and/or blame goes.

 

I will be truthful in saying that I honestly don't think that anything else will be done, I believe that the $$ amount fine paid by Fairview's "self reporting" was to lessen or eliminate penalties / further-deeper investigations, jmo . That is imo only what will more than likely imo what may play out but I honestly can't say.

I am not a part of the "Club Eagle" and am very thankful for that fact.

What did the adults do? Circle your wagons another way if you want to show your support for a coach that could care less about the kids in the first place. It's sad that the kids don't even realize that.

 

Support a coach that would rather toss a kid to the curb if that kid can't help the team than play the game with the kids that he is supposed to use.

To wait until after the season doesn't surprise me for a ego driven coach. Why not step down now? Because he wants to play the martyr and milk this all he can.

A text message from a Spring Valley, WV coach states that #3 Brown, who missed Fairview's game Friday, has enrolled at Spring Valley today.

Question...what does Fairview have to offer to these kids that entices them to come there instead of their home town schools? I haven't seen it stated here but are they paying these kids? It's not like they have some great tradition of winning titles and putting kids in D1 college programs. I'm having a hard time understanding how they are convincing these kids to come to Fairview short of $.

The play by play radio announcer from WLGC stated that Superintendent Bill Musick said they had the best team money could buy. Take that for what it's worth. WLGC carries Fairview football, btw.
