Add that to the fact that BG hasn't beaten T in multiple tries recently adding that psychological hurdle and I don't you can chose BG in this one.

 

Psychological hurdle? Believe me when I tell you this - there isn't a team BG lines up against that they don't think they're going to beat. That is true of every top flight program and it's a component of what makes them great. Not overconfidence in a "we don't have to try to win" kind of way, but just a "we are going to find a way to win" kind of way.

And as I said, do you or any of the Trinity folks know the exact reason why BG didn't schedule Trinity or are you speculating? Did BG have an open date? Keep in mind they had a 4 year contract and BG honored that entire contract. Now I believe they have a 4 year contract with St. X. And they'll honor that. C'mon man you know BG dropped Trinity to play X. As I said before Trinity has openly to tried to schedule BG.

Yes. They played X twice in row. Then Trinity for 4 years and now X for 4 years. They'd played one or the other since 2005 I believe.

BG offense could very well have been better than Trinity's offense was verse X that day but that doesn't tell you who would win Head to head!!!

 

Case & point last year Trinity beat X 34-6 the 1st time & yet in the 2nd match Trinity beat X only 15-14 but yet win X face BG they lost by 7 points 38-31. If you went by that logic than BG Offense was better than T's in both matches!!!

 

And as far as comparing scores of common opponents go. You simply can't do with good teams. Last year Trinity destroyed Elder & beat Cincy X but they both Destroyed Moeller who Trinity lost to.

 

Bottom line is the only way to know who's best is Head to Head & BG chose not to schedule Trinity!!!

 

I'm not one for comparing scores really but when that's the only option, it's natural to do so. In my "excuse" post I didn't say anything about scores, I said how the teams played versus X. You said I was making excuses because I pointed out neither team has great defenses, and bowling green has the superior offense. Once again, as a fan of a team who has faced both, I will reiterate. I believe Bg to be the better squad.

I keep hearing all BG has to do is schedule T. Can one of the T fans please tell me how that will happen this year? Because that is what we are talking about, this year. I have been saying this since BG dropped Trinity from it's schedule in 2010. it's just that this is the 1st year that you BG fans believe BG is Better than Trinity. I have always said that all the Big Dogs (X,Trinity,BG,Highlands & Scott co.) should play anaully to determine who's the best as well it will be great for Kentucky football overall.

 

again what I do know is that Trinity & X will play any of the top Teams any year.

Since Trinity is only concerned with what they can control in 6A and bringing home that trophy I am confused as to why the Trinity faithful are concerned so much with Bowling Green or justifying margins of victory.

 

Nodding in agreement. To be fair though, most of the Trinity fans in that thread saying those things have not really weighed in on this one.

 

Bowling Green beat St. Xavier in Louisville. The St. Xavier player who gave Bowling Green the most trouble (and was really one of the few kids who was overly effective against them) was on the sidelines in the Trinity game, and Bowling Green's win still came off more convincingly. That's what made my mind up. Just to add to it, there were questions about how prepared Bowling Green would be going into the game given the circumstances that led to the cancellation of their game the week before (i.e., they were only playing their second game of the season and had an extra week layoff).

 

 

If they played, I don't know how Trinity would cover all the skill players for the Purples, but Bowling Green's kicking game wasn't very strong either, and I could see Trinity capitalizing on it.

 

I think Bowling Green would win it in a close one if the two were to meet at full strength on a neutral field, it'd be a very good game, but if I had to pick a team, I'd go with Bowling Green. Both teams are outstanding and reasonable minds can differ.
