This is Great for Kentucky football. This is one step closer to having Kentucky's best teams play each other annually. As I've said so many times before Teams like Trinity,Highlands, Bowling Green,ST X,Male & Scott Co. Should always play atleast 3 of the 6 in state powers every year!!!!

Yes, 08 T was a lot closer to 08 X then they were between the 2 teams in 2005 but In terms of best team not to win state, 2008 X team was more dominant & Higher ranked nationally then 2005 X. As I said before 2008 X creamed every team in it's path by 3 tds or more including T until the 4 round playoff rematch. 2005 X team had quite a few tough games. Regular season games 05 X team had games with Bowling Green 13-7, Lex Cath 37-34, PRP 28-21 & Male 28-23. In the playoffs they barely got by John Hardin by 1 point 21-20. This is why 2008 X is ahead of 2005 X for best team not to whem state.

I know I'm late to the Thread but I would I have to say 2008 St X Tiger lead by Duece Finch. That team creamed every team in it's path by 3 tds or more including Trinity until the rematch in the in the 4th round of the Payoffs when Trinity pull off the upsets winning 28-21. I still can't believe X got beat in that one. Trinity came out on fire building a 21-0 late 1st half lead before X finally got on the board making the score 21-7. At that point I still felt X would win after getting out to such a slow start but with under a minute left before half time just when it looked like X had the momentum going into half time, Tim Phillops did the Tigers in racing for a 75 yard td. That play was the play of the game because even thought X had the better team I knew the odds were against them coming back from 3 scores with only a half remaining against a well Coached Trinity Team. The Tigers completely Shut Trinity down the 2nd half but that Tim Phillips 75 td before Half time proved to be too much to over come as Trinity by the skin of their teeth won 28-21. Before the X lost to Trinity Max Prep had X ranked 12th in the nation & even after the loss X still finish 27th in the nation. Everyone knows Trinity had no bussiness beating X that year.

I applaud Scott County for stepping up!!! If they are competive against teams like these, win or lose, they will gain state & national respect!!!

Hold your Heads up BlueBirds!!! You came a little short for the first time in about 7 years. When was the last time that both Highlands & Trinity Didn't win the State Title

Man I tell you what this year's finals are super competive. So far there has been only 1 blowout.

This is the competiveness that I love to see. Looks like Collins has come to win!!! Highlands has it's hands full at the moment!

I really like what's going in Scott Co. Football. Hell they may even be the best overall team in the State this year. Congrats Cardinals!!! I still say they can get much more Respect both local & Nationally if they would Beef up their Schedule with the Top in state teams & a few out of state powers. From the looks of this year's team Scott co sure looks like they can hold their own with the best of them!!!

Wow! what a great season in Ohio. There were a bunch of really good Teams. I still say Ohio & Texas have the toughest Playoffs in the Country as specially this year!!

Male Ruled Trinity this season!!!not many teams can say that! Congrats Bulldogs. I would like to see another All Louisville match up in the finals!!!! So Let's go Male & Let's go Butler!!!

AvidTiger why did X run the ball so few times? Walker only 4 carries & Davis only 10 carries! Davis went over 200 yards on 26 carries in the first match-up vs Male. So you would think in addition to having a healthy Walker that the game plan would be Heavy run with Walker & Davis getting about 20 carries a piece!! I really wish the new Coaches luck in the future but this year's X team would have been better off with Coach Glaser as he would have surely pound the ball with both Walker & Davis. What do you think?

There is two reason why I haven't argued for Male or Manual. First is, I'm not sold on neither team because they haven't been consistent with good teams year in & year out. Also I'm not so sure that Male & Manual would play Trinity & St X if they weren't in the same district.

I beg to differ. IF Scott Co & Simon Kenton along with so many others in Kentucky would just step up & play a couple games a year with both in state & out of state good teams, that way everyone would know how good they are or are not! Also by doing this you get the respect in state & nationally if your team is legit. BTW- Trinity Is not a great team this year but they still were very competitive in all their games with the exception of Moeller. Now as far as Scott co & Simon Kenton goes, Yes I believe if they played T's schedule they both would go 0-10 along with a bunch running clocks. Now do I really know this? No, but if you go with past history it is safe to assume it will happen that way because year after year all these unproven teams run in into Trinity or X & they are Destroyed in the playoff or finals. This has happen even in years where Trinity didn't have greats team.

BG will cruise through 5a & at this point they have proven to be the best team in the state overall!!!

Heading into the playoffs this looks about right to me!!!

I have a feeling that ST X is going to be tough to beat in the playoffs with a Charles Walker & Austin Davis!!!

listen I'm From Florida & in 2011 that was a down year. Manatee & Armwood were the State's best two teams Manatee lost to Don Bosco & Good Counsel . Armwood struggled against several teams that were 500. Miami Central played Cincy Elder the week after Trinity that year & Central beat Elder 24-21. Trinity Destroyed Elder 58-7. at halftime the score was 38-0. Trinity called the dogs off in the 3rd quater. Normally those states you named would always have better teams then Trinity but not in 2011. My nephew plays for Valor Christian, Colorado. I saw them play several times & Trinity would have Destroyed them. Again, Trinity & Don Bosco were clearly the best to teams by far in 2011.

yes I did, I know they return the favor to Baylor but 2011 Ensworth had severals weaknesses & 2011 Trinity had few weaknesses if any at all. Again, 2011 Ensworth was not on Trinity's level that year. Now in 2012 Ensworth & Trinity would have been a super match-up as both teams were on the same level.

Ensworth was dominated by Baylor in 2011 42-14 & That year Baylor lost to Brentwood Academy They were a really good team in 2011 but they were not on Trinity's level.
