I have a feeling that ST X is going to be tough to beat in the playoffs with a Charles Walker & Austin Davis!!!

If you really think SK is the 2nd best team in 6A in the state, I agree the road would seem very easy.

 

 

If you believe their ranking is simply a result of their weak schedule (like I do ) then the road will be bumpy. Campbell Co., Dixie, McCracken, will all be competitive games. A loss to any of those teams would not surprise me a bit.

I like to read the BGP rankings throughout the year. I think the group of "voters" do a good job of ranking teams even though it involves teams from all across the state. Trying to determine the level of competition in one region versus another is a big unkown in placing teams. I think for the most part the group is spot on.

 

However,

 

this poll (along with last weeks 6A rankings) does not follow your normal pattern. Undefeated does not mean #1 and #2 in a poll. Your guys seem to recognize that in the 3A poll where an undefeated team sits 7th in the rankings. This poll is an insult to the level of football being played in the Louisville super district.

I will be hard to convince that beating McCracken in Paducah will be a yawn.

The simple fact is, Simon Kenton and Scott County has done their part on the field of play, most of the other 6A teams have not. Strength of Schedule is a consideration, but simple loosing to strong teams does mean a team is better.

Following this logic, Mason County and Bourbon County should be at the very top of 3A. The 3A poll has Mason 7th. They did their part on the field too.

 

I agree losing to a strong team does not always mean you are better, BUT the Louisville teams didn't just play better teams - they played teams eons better than those on the SK schedule.

 

JMO, but your #2 ranked Pioneers would be 0 - 10 if they played Trinity's schedule and maybe 2 -8 if they played St X's schedule.
