In addition, Simon Kenton does not have to beat the tougher competition that Trinity has played.

 

In the pre-season St. Xavier was the team to beat, Trinity beat them, so Trinity is the team to beat, but Male beat them, so Male is the team to beat, then Manual beat them. Who is the team to beat now?

Following this logic, Mason County and Bourbon County should be at the very top of 3A. The 3A poll has Mason 7th. They did their part on the field too.

 

I agree losing to a strong team does not always mean you are better, BUT the Louisville teams didn't just play better teams - they played teams eons better than those on the SK schedule.

 

JMO, but your #2 ranked Pioneers would be 0 - 10 if they played Trinity's schedule and maybe 2 -8 if they played St X's schedule.

Better than they wound up, but this is very hard to predict because I did not know the expectations of the teams from Tenn. and Ind.

 

I would have predicted losses to Colerain and Moeller, while expecting wins against all KY opponents.

I don't think that can be answered, but you have to admit that if Simon Kenton and Trinity had switched schedules prior to the season, everyone would be saying Trinity was unstoppable and Simon Kenton was just another 6A team that did not have a chance. So, given the information we have, why not say the same with roles reversed?

With schedules and roles reversed Trinity would be 10 - 0 with at least 8 running clock games. SK would be 0 - 10 with plenty of those games being running clocks against them.

I'll concede that if you guys will also concede that simply going 10 - 0 against a pitiful schedule doesn't mean your the best team either.

I think if the schedule was reversed, the results would be the same for both teams. That is why we have this discussions. But, again if the schedule and results were exactly reversed, people would be saying how powerful Trinity was and how bad Simon Kenton was.

 

I think Trinity won the games they should have, but lost the games versus the great competition. I think they would have gotten the benefit of the doubt if they would have won a game or two that people didn't expect them to.

 

I am far from a Trinity hater, in fact, I venture a guess that I am the only person in NEKY that has a Trinity sweatshirt. I just wish they would have gotten that signature win.
