5A: Rank The Class AAAAA Playoff Teams

With the playoffs set to get underway, let's try and rank the teams in each class.

Going to get this one out of the way. I think Bowling Green is the best team in the state regardless of class, so I'll go ahead and say they are the best team in this class and that it looks like theirs to lose. Hope I don't jinx your boys @PurplePride92, but I think they have it.

 

Most people have Bowling Green in the one spot, so who are the potential candidates who could upset them and what is each team's likelihood of doing so?

IMO BG will play Apollo, Christian Co., Warren Central, John Hardin, and one of about 4 or 5 teams that make it from the east side of the bracket.

 

With all due respect, I will be surprised if its not a running clock in the 2nd quarter.

Christian Co. - the last team to defeat the Purples and it was at BG in the playoffs in 2010 - I just don't see this team with the tools to get it done.

Warren Central - this is a dangerous team - they have quality athletes and as much pep in your step after a feel good loss as you can get. Regular season game was tight at 14 all early in 2nd Q. For Central to have a chance, there OLine MUST allow more time chewing drive that garner points. I look for this game to be very close early, but for BG to be too much and too strong late.

 

John Hardin - enter everything I said about WC hear. If not for BGs run it either one of these teams or both would have a very recent state championship.

 

East Winner - Not sure who will make it - Pulaski Co, Franklin Co, S Oldham, Conner/Cooper? Sorry too much KoolAid already drank this very special season - They've come too far to lose this one.

BG will cruise through 5a & at this point they have proven to be the best team in the state overall!!!
