I can't speak for the BG coaching staff but I'd take the 6A playoffs in 2013.

Bowling Green of course doesn't play them twice a year, but has beaten them three in a row now, and Trinity only has an extra year on them in that respect (2010).

 

I submit this to you - if Trinity loses to any of the 6A teams they play this year, it proves that they were not only not #1, they weren't even #2. That's why I think it's a little bit silly a concept, that it has to be a Kentucky team to beat them for you to have your mind changed. When in reality the only Kentucky team that likely could beat either they've both already beaten. And Trinity fans have a ready made excuse for any margin differences - it's a rivalry therefore it doesn't matter that they were less impressive.

WE did not start this threat, one of TRINITY'S guys did. Absolutely no one that I can recall has claimed superiority as a program, only as a team in this year, something you have now yourself said is at least arguable since you believe them on par.

 

And the response that you quoted was my reply to RP's statement that Trinity has beaten X seven times in a row and no other team in the state can say that. I was merely pointing out that as BG doesn't play them twice a year (as often happens for Trinity) they're not likely to get that many in a row, but have beaten them only one less year in a row, with Trinity's streak beginning in 2010 and BG's in 2011.

 

There is nothing, NOTHING, that can be done about the fact these teams do not play this year. It will prove NOTHING if they were to play in any subsequent year. It will never answer who was better in 2013. Therefore, all we're left with are things such as schedule comparison and what people's eyeballs tell them. So people can continue pissing and moaning about them not playing and debate the reasons why, or they can simply get over it and accept that we don't always have the benefit of a head to head when trying to determine who is better.

fair enough but my point is Bowling Green Dropped Trinity. I know that Trinity & X will schedule any Top team any year. So there for the benefit of playing Head to Head to determine who's better was there but Bowling Green elected not to do so!!!

I know they dropped them before the 2011 season. I have no idea if there was any attempt by either side to schedule it for this year and the next.

 

My question is, with the paradigm shift in Trinity's scheduling, would they have actually scheduled BG this year or found more benefit in playing the out of state teams as they've been doing?

Are you kidding me! Trinity wants to schedule Bowling Green, Highlands or Scott co. any year! They would have no problem playing a couple less out of state powers to make room to play a Quality Kentucky oppontent.

I thought it was a legitimate question. We've seen all these threads as to how it is not to their benefit to schedule KY teams instead of out of state powers. BG may be a peer this year, but I'm not 100% certain that will be true next year. Whereas most teams Trinity schedules out of state are permanent monster teams. BG reloads relative to their class, but they don't necessarily reload on Trinity caliber every year.

Can't be proven right ether. It's also easy to say a team is best until an in-state team beats them when they only play 3 in the regular season plus five potentially in the playoffs, and only 2-3 of those games would come against a team with the remotest chance of winning. And that's every single year. I know that it didn't start as Trinty's fault that no one here wanted to schedule them and I'm sure it's still not really their fault, but that is the case. Outside of X and Scott County should they meet, there's not a team Trinity would play in 6A that I'd ever give a prayer of winning.
