Who do you want managing the Reds in 2014?

Featured Replies

He would still be a whiner. If you mean they would win in the playoffs, you may be right but I can't stomach watching it.

But they would win, and that's what everyone wants. I wouldn't mind the whining because it would favor the Reds haha

He seems to be the most knowledgable baseball mind in the organization.

He would also get a grip on the clubhouse, where presently the lunatics are running the asylum.

Doubt they can ditch Dusty. One more year on his contract and he does just well enough on paper to keep his job. Very lucky man.

Anyone but Dusty. I don't care who it is!

Totally agree Madman!

Certainly not Dusty Baker. This was yet another very predictable end to a Dusty Baker team season....everywhere he has been. I said earlier this season that with Baker at the helm - the Reds would not go to a WS, probably not the NL Championship series.

Should he come back then my prediction will be the same.

I would just love to see the first interview with Marty. lol

Marty might retire first.

Bobby Valentine...But then I'm not a Reds fan.

That's obvious with that suggestion. :lol2:

I would check to see if there were any way possible to get 1. Terry Francona 2. Joe Madden 3. Don Mattingly. After that, Spindoc and LRCW. (pkg. deal)

A couple names....

Charlie Manuel

Matt Williams

Barry Larkin

Joe Girardi (if he walks)

No way the Reds would be able to steal an active manager from a current MLB team IMO.

I would be happy happy happy if it was Girardi. I also agree with MTGL that the pitching coach has a shot.

Charlie Manuel ... a worse version of Dusty.

Matt Williams ... I know nothing about as manager material. Tell me more.

Barry Larkin ...I see him as being too soft. Again, Dusty lite.

Williams is either hitting coach or bench coach for the Dbacks....He's a no-nonsense kinda guy (have heard him compared to Mattingly a lot), who is considered a riser in the managerial ranks. On the short list for the Nationals job.

He is neither. He is just their 3rd base coach. Don Baylor is hitting coach, and Alan Trammel is bench coach.
