October 2, 201312 yr Author I would be happy happy happy if it was Girardi. I also agree with MTGL that the pitching coach has a shot. That's my 1 but I think Chicago has a better chance due to $$$.

October 3, 201312 yr Jeff Brantley He seems to be the most knowledgable baseball mind in the organization. He would also get a grip on the clubhouse, where presently the lunatics are running the asylum. Doubt they can ditch Dusty. One more year on his contract and he does just well enough on paper to keep his job. Very lucky man. The other day at lunch one of the guys mentioned this and we all kinda laughed for a second then started discussing it and the more we talked the more I thought it might just be a good idea. I think he would be better as a pitching coach at least for a bit.
October 3, 201312 yr What are the chances they stay in-house? Speier maybe? Or maybe drop down to the minor league level? You've got a former major league manager in Riggleman sitting at AAA. And he's already had a full season of handling Billy Hamilton (who obviously is going to have to play a key role next year).
