Overshadowed maybe to you, but not to me. Or are you talking about the block from hell that took your player out of the game. It was a legal block, despite the rantings from all the Highlands fans. The taunting afterwords was completely uncalled for and I don't think he returned to the game after that. It seemed the mighty Highlands lost their composure after that and they were the ones landing cheap shots on the John Hardin players. To each is his own I guess.

I await what I'm sure will be a clarification of these accusations. None of it sounds accurate.

It was his antics afterwards that had everybody bitching and I my friend was one of them. And yes it led to a lot of chippy play after that. Oh btw who blew through the line on the QB kneel down on last play of game. Game was over. Time to concede and accept your loss and learn from it. Not you but players. Trust me, I saw and heard several Highlands fans screaming for him to be thrown out because of the block, not his antics afterword. And chippy is an understatement. I won't get into specifics, but there could have probably been 4-5 more personal fouls called on Highlands after that play the refs missed. And calling Highlands mighty was not being sarcastic, they are the 2nd best team in the state IMO and will steamroll through 4A this year.

Since I can't remember what I had for dinner I could be wrong but I think I read somewhere coach was 11-19 at Sycamore, 48-12 at Withrow and through today is 241-34 at HHS.

I'm curious about DeSales. They beat John Hardin a couple of weeks ago. I wish them well. Is John Hardin having some internal problems?

It was said the game was never in doubt but the score looks awfully too close for comfort. Anyone have the box score/summary?

The block by #2 from John Hardin was completely legal. However, the taunting after the play when a kid is down is what had the HHS fans upset. It is football. Legal, clean blocks are part of the game; however, taunting as if you are in the NFL does not have a place in high school football and does not show good sportsmanship in my book. Did the game get chippy after that? Yes from both teams. This block came shortly after an HHS player was on the ground for awhile with what appeared to be a broken arm or wrist. Watching a mom sit in the stands waiting to see her son move is unnerving. Hoping all is ok with that young man and we see him on the field very soon.

 

BTW...we Highlands fans do know that this is Dale's 300th win; however, we also know that for Dale it is not about him...it is about these boys and this TEAM, not the individual glory.

Sounds like it was a competitive game and Highlands was the better team. It is good that they are getting to play more teams where they don't pull the starters by halftime. It makes it exciting for all involved. Congrats to Coach Mueller and the kids that have helped him achieve this milestone.
