From the outside looking in, IF BG loses to any KY team left on their schedule there won't be enough crow in the world to satisfy the demand. Strange things happen in HS football. If they lose in the playoffs, same deal.

 

If they lose to the TN. team/teams, most credibility will certainly take a big hit.

LexCath would beat 95% of the teams in this state. If not more. That's a quality win. Even more so that they spanked them pretty good.

 

yes, & 95% of Ky's high school football teams are below average teams. Which is why you see such lopsided scores when ever teams face Trinity, Highlands, Bowling green,St X or even Scoot co. It will stregthen there case. while McCallie & Blackman are not national powers, how ever these are top tier teams. So yes, wins over them will be quality wins!!!!

Maybe it's just me, but I think Lex Cath and St X. are both better quality wins than UC, Campbell County and Bryan Station... Also sweeper, since you seem to have this elitist attitude as well; If one has a different opinion than you, that does not make them a "Highlands or Trinity hater." See, you shouldn't even have dragged Trinity into the mix either, because the only fan base that's even going nuts over what PP92 is saying are Highlands fans.

Actually, wouldn't most of KY teams be avg to above and then there are 3-4 teams that are just outstanding teams? I really don't think 95% of the teams in KY are below average. Where is your baseline to determine what is below average?

We all strive to be just like Highlands and Trinity.

 

Finally someone on this site with a clear head that understands what it takes for their program to be the best they can be.

 

I dont know about T but Dale welcomes programs to come see "how its done" in the off season, we have had schools from KY, OH, TN and heck even some College coaches (one notable Big from Columbus) have modeled after Dale and Highlands...

It's ok that you're wrong and refuse to recognize strength of schedule. Bowling Green is 2-0 against two average KY teams. Trinity is 1-2 against 3 nationally ranked teams. I'll take the team that has played the better quality opponents even if they have 1 less win.

If its about strength of schedule why do you place highlands in front of bg? St x an average ky team now? X is ranked higher than Carmel, T's only win, on maxpreps which is where I'm assuming you got your info. X was also ranked 34 on rivals before losing to Bg, that was higher than T, Lawrence central and Carmel. You should rephrase your argument.

My definition of a Big Dog is a Program that does it consistently wk in wk out and yr in and yr out.

How long do the teams need to sustain success to be considered a Big dog?

The reason I ask is Beechwood won 11 titles in a very short period of time, are they not considered a big dog because it's been a couple years since their last title, or is it because even during those years they wouldn't of been able to beat one of the big schools?

 

I ask because if a Big Dog is one considered to have a chance to beat any school in the state, well then right now there would only be 1 Big dog or maybe 2 because BG could give T a run this year if they faced off. I don't see Highlands this year being able to beat T. But if HHS is considered a big dog because of how they have dominated their class, then why wouldn't Beechwood or Mayfield be considered a Big Dog?

You got to beat T, you got to beat GCL Elder and St X, you even have to get beat by those same teams and others and keep coming back for more, the big difference between Highlands and teams that want to be a Big Dog is they only want to do it when they have a "special" group of Srs or something.

 

You have to be willing to put your program and reputation on a National stage for all to critique and put everything on the line.

Dale does this and so does Highlands, been doing it this way for a whole bunch of yrs consistently.

 

Different level of football my friend and Highlands has done all these along with winning wk in and wk out and you know the rest of the story...

 

All the State Titles should and will get you respect but it certainly doesnt make you a Big Dog...Sorry
