June 30, 201313 yr And the two comments thus far: sounds to me like you need to vote this mayor out of office AND There used to be a brothel/crack house across the street and now the color scheme concerns the citizens of Ft Mitchell? I agree totally with the bolded above. As a Ft. Mitchell resident, this letter is ridiculous and embarrassing! I would hope that this mayor would welcome new businesses, instead of sitting on his high horse and trying to run businesses away.
June 30, 201313 yr The one thing that stuck-out to me right from the "get go" was how it was addressed........Dear Residents of North Fort Mitchell. I guess the rest of the city doesn't matter. I assume they are addressing the residents in and around the establishment, but why not address the "whole" community.
July 1, 201313 yr ow - They get a Mercedes Benz dealership and now the administration thinks they are all high and mighty! Can not tell who signed the letter, but really surprised if this came from Chris Morconi (sp?) But maybe all the years of his dealings in Independence got to him.
July 1, 201313 yr The hotel. Pretty good rates there. Variety of options. Good chance of catching something tho. The old Holiday Inn. (Remember, it had the "holidome") Edited July 1, 201313 yr by OlDog75
July 1, 201313 yr The old Holiday Inn. (Remember, it had the "holidome") Yep. There was a time when it was a respectable, fun place. Too bad it went to seed. I knew there were a lot of unsavory characters there and suspected drug deals that went on there in recent years. Didn't know it became a brothel.

The rest of Ft. Mitchell is paying little to no attention to this.
July 1, 201313 yr Looks like people should have thought a bit longer before they voted against Holocher.
July 1, 201313 yr Author I don't know what is more embarrassing here, the powers that be in Fort Mitchell approaching the business or sending out THAT letter after they did it. Along the lines of what kinglouie said above, I wonder if the tough guy Mayor visited the new Mercedes Benz dealership and told them no air wrenches or loud test drives or he will revoke their occupational license.
July 1, 201313 yr As someone who grew up in "South Fort Mitchell", I can say that most of the residents of "North Fort Mitchell" are a bunch of privileged clowns anyway. Bring on the commerce. For what it's worth, I think Mayor Wiest is WAY better than Holocher ever was.
July 1, 201313 yr The old Holiday Inn. (Remember, it had the "holidome") So the holidome ran the Brothel? I thought the hotel a few doors down north next to other bar ran the meth lab?
July 1, 201313 yr So the holidome ran the Brothel? I thought the hotel a few doors down north next to other bar ran the meth lab? I think all of the hotels in Ft. Wright have had meth labs in them at some point or another. Roadway Inn, Days Inn and the Lookout Motel are all sketchy as hell. The old Holidome went WAY downhill as soon as they sold it.
July 1, 201313 yr So why exactly is this a big deal? The guy is opening a restaraunt...What am I missing?
July 1, 201313 yr So why exactly is this a big deal? The guy is opening a restaraunt...What am I missing? The restaurant is very close to a small neighborhood of very expensive historic homes and a 110 year old country club. They're rich and privledge suburbanites and need something to complain about. When the restaurant owner bought the old restaurant (Indigo's) and repainted former quaint white restaurant building with some bolder colors and announced that it would be "sports bar" themed, then the "North Ft. Mitchell" residents decided they needed to cry about it to the mayor. In order to be in government in Ft. Mitchell, you have to be able to squabble over little things and make mountains out of molehills in order to keep up with and/or please your constituency, thus the mayor's meeting with the new restaurant owner, and the mayor's letter to the residents in that area.
July 1, 201313 yr So, I guess in the mayors eyes, I-75 is the DMZ? I thought we dropped the North years ago? Wasn't it after we invaded it? Hmmm.....
