    • No, he hasn't played enough games yet and that isn't the way you pick the team.

Because Cabrera is far and away the best player in the game right now, and is on pace to go down in history as potentially the greatest overall offensive player to ever play the game. After 100 ABs we're ready to put Puig on that level, already?

No not at all  but no one knows where he will end up...he COULD be an All-Time Great or a "Flash in the pan"...just enjoy watching him play.

I absolutely love that so many have their panties in a wad over the possibility of Puig making the all star game. Only in baseball.

I didnt want him to make it in, but have no problem if he gets in during the fan vote.

Is he fun and good for the game? Absolutely.

Should one good month get you in an all-star game that, sadly, matters? No.

Side-note: the fact that the outcome of this game means anything is ludicrous.

I don't really mind the possibility, though I do think if you aren't even eligible to have your statistics listed that you probably shouldn't be eligible to be an all-star. I care far more as a Braves fan since he's up against Freeman for the last spot.

What I mind more than anything is ESPN's attempt to shove this down our throat. I enjoyed the very small amount of SportsCenter I saw this morning when the question was asked "Who is more deserving" of the last spot, and the first answer was immediately "I'm not going to talk about who is most deserving, I'm going to talk about who I want to see".

Freeman maintains his lead. #VoteFreddie :D

I voted about 30 times today.

Should every team have to represented in a game that sadly matters? No. But we don't hear anyone beating us over the head with that.

At the end of the day if the game didn't matter people would still be whining. Just par for the course with baseball.

No matter how many people complain, this is still the best All Star game out of any professional sport league

I don't agree with everything about the All-Star game but IMO it's the best of all the pro sports and I love that every team has to be represented, even if the game has meaning. I don't want an all-star game full of players from the Yankees and Red Sox. Just because every team is represented doesn't mean ever player plays, something that people seem to forget.

Puig may be deserving because of stats but he hasn't played long enough to be considered an "all-star"

Put him the the celebrity softball game or the futures game but definitely not the all-star game.

I agree with you except on the every team thing...if this is truly an All-Star game then it should be the BEST of the BEST, don't leave off a deserving player just so the Astros can send a .246 hitting outfielder. If the best players in the AL include 5 Yankees, 5 Tigers and 6 Red Sox so be it. There were years that when the Reds were really bad it was almost embarrassing as a Reds fan to have a player there just to fill the quota when there were more deserving players. Only exception that I would make is that the hosting team just HAS to have at least one player on the team.

I'm fine with taking away the every team represented concept but they'd have to get I'd of fan voting or at least only let that be a factor. New York market is too big for multiple players not to make the team, deserving or not.

On the contrary, I think the ridiculousness of every team being represented comes up every year. Just yesterday I heard Colin Cowherd spend a good 15 minutes on how dumb that rule is. So yes, I do think people recognize that.

No way. What is your favorite sport to watch? That is the answer to who has the best All Star game out of any professional league.
