Straight people asked a question that gays have been asked for years.

Do you think some folks may be born gay, while other gay folks may choose to be gay???? Can someone change their mind?

Really tired of hearing about the gays....gay this, gay that, gays constantly being promoted as artistic, and funny, and creative.

If it doesn't matter if you are gay, then it shouldn't matter if you are gay. Seems to matter to the gays. (Trying to set a record for number of times saying gay in one post).

I can't view the video. What question was asked?

Anyone?

I'm pretty sure it'll stop being brought up when they are given the same equal rights as everyone else.

No I do not understand everything, but as far as God speaking. Here is what is said.

“‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (Leviticus 20:13 NIV)[3]

Leviticus is tricky, because as UKMF pointed out, there are other regulations that we don't apply (i.e. shaving, not wearing clothing made of two different types of fabric, tattoos, etc.). A lot of those regulations no longer apply to us.

The detestable part of this verse is repeated in the New Testament, so it still stands. The putting to death part is not repeated.

I assume you'll agree with me that anyone who has had pre-marital sex is going to hell as well? That's in the Bible, so it must be true.

Society has made it matter.

Did I say the person was going to hell? I was simply inferring that the behavior is outside the will of God.

I don't make the determination of heaven & hell for anyone. But yes, heterosexual sin is lumped right in with homosexual sin, particularly in 1 Corinthians 6.

I know gay people that wish they were straight because it's accepted and "the norm". Takes choice out of the equation for me.

I won't claim to speak as any kind of authority here, but I can give an example that affected my family. My aunt was married to a man in the early days of my life (I don't remember him) who was gay. His marriage to my aunt was brief, only a couple years, and ended in divorce. When it was breaking apart, my father asked him what happened. He said that in the town they lived in (less than 500 people), it was so far-fetched to be gay that he married so that he could be accepted as the "norm." He made an effort to make it work but ultimately left my aunt because he knew he wasn't straight.

That story makes me think that gay people might attempt to be straight because they want to fit in because of outside pressures. But ultimately it has to come down to honesty. He honestly was a homosexual and no amount of trying/practicing/kidding could change that. That's why I believe it isn't a choice.

Society has made it matter.

Our society....not the world at large.

A lot of Christians have made it a bigger issue as well. Being a Christian, I naturally have a ton of friends who share my general beliefs. I would say a majority of them, at least in their minds, have elevated homosexuality as some kind of really serious sin as opposed to other vices that aren't considered to be as heinous.

I firmly believe it's both. Some are wired that way, others choose it. Just my opinion.

Agreed.

Agreed.

Ironically, I think some are gay to GAIN attention. Meanwhile, quite a few others wish they were straight to be looked at as an equal.

Agree on both.
