Thanks for the vote of confidence bball. :D

All kidding aside, I believe the party allegedly happened a couple of years ago.

You would be correct.

All kidding aside, I believe the party allegedly happened a couple of years ago.

With her "attacks" on the coaching staff at Boone Co I could see why this may now come up. As Bball stated, looks like it could be some are throwing stuff back on her now.

I believe that you just proved my point as to this being nothing but a "witch hunt"

A witch two years ago is still a witch today.

Sounds like them Downs' Dogs are hunting...

I believe that you just proved my point as to this being nothing but a "witch hunt"

It sounds like you are correct, given the timing of all events. However, if it happened and an investigation confirms the facts, I don't see any way the Board keeps her considering her position.

Rather than "witch hunt", it is more a lesson of 'those who live in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones.'

Right, but it doesn't say much for the parents that they only report this as a retaliatory action. This should have been taken care of at the time of occurence. Not be used as a trump card.

Did it happen? If you don't know the definite answer, then you need to either find someone who knows the facts or wait for the results of the investigation.

Is bball 21 not supposed to comment? You started an entire thread asking for what consequences should fall upon an educator before this alleged incident has been made public, except on this website. You asked and bball 21 answered. You allege that it was not simply a situation where alcohol was present in some form either knowingly or not, but was a "drunkfest". I would also agree that the timing does seem to lessen the credibility of the allegations. As far as the coach issue related to this situation, there was a hearing in Boone County and, though no action was deemed necessary, shortly thereafter, these allegations arise. EyeOfTheTiger states that it was a drunkfest and, if this is the case, the parents would certainly have noticed as soon as they picked up their children and something of that magnitude would not remain quiet through children or parents. I also can't imagine that anyone would wait two years, six months, or even a few days to decide to report something that EyeOfTheTiger says made "parents who left their children in her care [not] very happy". If you are not OK with this, then you see it is addressed in a timely manner, not wait until a time that coincides with that person filing a grievance.

As the information here seems to come before any official investigation, police report, or news reporting anywhere except this thread on this website, do you know why the person waited so long to file the report, as it seems to be agreed that this event occurred approximately two years ago? Also, who did they report this to? As this information seems to have come to the district via this thread only, did the person simply notify a school board member who has not yet had the opportunity to move on this? I'm just trying to understand the details related to this "drunkfest". You asked what we thought should happen so, if possible, more information helps.

I truly hope that there is nothing to these most recent allegations. If there is truth to the statements made on this thread, then it would be a tragically sad situation resulting from a lack of judgement by multiple people even if, as someone suggested, it was sneaked into the party. If these allegations are false, then it is an equally serious situation of slanderous allegations.

Just wanted to edit and point out key things in your post.

It does seem odd that if this happened two years ago and just now coming out that it is a revenge thing on her.

People also have to understand if they post something anywhere, or start the talks, they best be correct, or they may be the ones dragged into court.

It's been a rough month or so for the ol' principal here on BGP.

To save me some reading (because I haven't kept up) let me ask:

This alleged incident happened 2+ years ago?

Has a complaint been filed with either the police or the school board?

Yes, two years ago.

Yes, a complaint has been filed with the school board.

Yes, it happened and the story is not news to many in Boone County.

Mex, what I am saying is what the Boone County Board of Education decides to do in one or either of these cases should have no bearing, affect, etc. on the other incident/case.

Speaking in general terms, nothing surprises me when it comes to parents of athletes that struggle to play and nothing surprises me when it comes to school officials.

Or Cops or Coaches or Men of the Cloth or anyone else. Nothing surprises anyone from any group any more. There are bad apples everywhere.

My youngest son is 13 and if he went to a party where a parent provided him with alcohol and he got drunk then I am whipping his tail. He'll never go back to that parent's house but in no way shape or form would I do anything to that parent. I probably wouldn't even call them. My kid knows better and if he wants to be dumb then he'll deal with the consequences. Unless that parent tied him to a bed, took his cellphone and stuffed a beer bong down his throat my kid is 100% responsible. Period.

I agree with holding my child responsible for his/her choice to drink, but if the host parent had knowledge and did nothing, I have a duty to report that negligence so that it doesn't happen again. Doing nothing to address the issue regarding the adult in charge is not acceptable in my opinion.

Was this story on BGP two years ago? If not, why not? Why is it just now coming to "light"? Something seems odd to me with this entire situation?

How far back should we go to go after someone?
