What a great story. Castellini is first class, and is one of the best owners because he understands as well as anyone it is about the fans. Thanks for posting.

While the Castellini family has done a great job running the Reds, let's also realize that they probably were not consulted on this decision. Some one working in that office had the compassion and authority to make this call, they too deserve kudos for doing this. But it all does come from the top, if the Castellini's don't set this tone then these decisions can't be made at lower levels.

 

Kudos to all involved...including Colonel and his friends and family for collecting the funds to purchase the tickets in the first place...that is one of the coolest things I have every heard of coming out of a tough situation like the one that occurred. :clap::clap::clap:

I don't want to take anything from the thread, but I also know a beautiful little girl with CHARGE syndrome. It's definitely a tough thing to cope with, but she is a true angel and blessing from God. Honestly, she's the most genuine person I've ever met. If you click on the home tab, she's the cute blonde girl with chubby cheeks and glasses. The picture was from about eight years ago.

I feel like the Cincinnati Reds have to be one of the best organizations in regards to fan accommodations, customer service, and etc. From my experience in the the little time I've worked for DNC Sports Service, who handles the Reds vending, everyone I've interacted with has been great. The majority of the people truly live "Reds Way", which is what they call their customer service model.

This, like everyone has said is just a great story. What a gesture by the Reds organization. I know that the Reds have done things like this in the past and will continue to, the club and the Reds players along with the fans have always been like a "small town" type atmosphere. The only other team that I follow with interest are the Yankees and I know that they do similar things as well, especially when "the boss" George Steibrenner was there. I am sure that other clubs do it as well but there is just something special with the Reds doing these things, probably bc of the small town / family feeling.

Definitely a feel good story. The Reds have been, and always will be , my favorite sports team.

This is my 44th season following the Reds and it has been a love affair since day one.

What a great story. That was truly a great gesture.

This story makes me proud to be a Reds supporter. I may not complain about concession prices this year.

The Reds may be 26-45 right now and holding on strong to the last spot in the NL Central, but I still think of this whole thing once or twice a month during Reds season...even this season.
