Talk to the Skyline Crosstown people on that one. They put that game on the schedule. From what I understand, the Skyline promoters had a hard time finding an Ohio team that would play Beechwood. Simon Kenton played Beechwood in this game the last couple years but they don't want to play Beechwood. Several Ohio teams declined. We know why that happens - Harbin concerns. Lima has a new coach who came over from Ada, where he was 69-18 and had them in the playoffs every year - which means something in Ohio. Here is an article about him.

I remember when Beechwood would play good Ohio teams. Purcell Marian, Kettering Alter, Newark Catholic. I think there was a Bishop something school from near Columbus, and didn't they play Wyoming as well?

That was Beechwood Yeagle, now it is Beechwood Rash.

Just how much money does the promoter give to these schools? 1) You give up a home game, 2) You play at UC where the practice bubble usually is located, with very few stands, 3) You pay for parking.

The only one mentioned that I can remember for sure is Cincinnati Hills Christian. A couple others were mentioned but I am not sure of their names and don't want to say unless I am sure.

I predict they will be .500 or better in 2013. A really good coach can make that happen and the new coach has a winning track record. He is bringing his team to Cincinnati to play in this game so he must think there is potential there.

As I asked before, how much do they pay these teams to play in this event? As well as they may see only one thing, a KY class A team, Maybe the "A" looks a lot better to him than playing Thurgood Marshall again (TM won 55-7 last year). Lima has 4 new teams on this years schedule so possibly the new coach is trying to shake things up.

What was Lima Senior's record last year and what Division are they? Several years ago they were a very strong D1 team.

Obviously I assumed Lima was better than they are since they are a Skyline opponent. :confused:

 

Seriously, I am not sure how much input Rash has on that Skyline game. I doubt he is the one who came up with Lima.

I know nothing about Lima Senior, but Beechwood rarely schedules a game where they are overmatched. Shooting from the hip here, but if the game is on Beechwood's schedule they have to believe they can complete.

Challenged and overmatched are two different things.

I think they schedule Cov Cath because it is a historical rival and they have had historical (if not recent) success.
