Combs is needed on the offensive line, BW will be fine at TE, they have three kids who will be an upgrade over last year. No offense to Combs, but he does not have the speed to play TE at the next level, if he wants a D1 scholarship it will be as a member of the interior line.

 

Clearly we disagree and that's fine. Since his dad is helping coach, I assume this is by choice. I would like to know who the "upgrades" are? It's the same people as last year. The same guys that Combs came in for when he moved up. The tight ends could not catch the ball. Hopefully that has changed. With a strong QB, we need some reliable hands and great blocking.

I did run into a player I know the other night and he told me that Stokes is at practice. That's a start. Hopefully he will get his off-field stuff together and be ready to contribute to the team. I do think he has a great deal of potential.

Well Lima senior game could go either way some year back they were good but we will see but looking last years schedule you figure toledo whitmer state runner up toledo central won division 2 state champ last year finley is a division 1 school thurgood just changed the school name but they have been to division 2 playoffs last 2 years thats a halfway tough schedule reguardless of record beechwood shouldnt sleep on lima im not saying beechwood wont win but it may be a tougher game than lima record is suggesting.

But what were the scores of those games? And were they even close? Ludlow plays Beechwood, that doesn't make anything out of them simply because they played Beechwood. (no offense to Ludlow).

Looks like I missed out on a lot since being away for awhile. I was going to wait to renew my expired sub to BGP closer to season thinking there would be little in the way of HS football being talked but the passing of my close friend Westsider brought me back and I see I missed a lot of good posts.

Sorry about the circumstances that you brought you back a little earlier than you planned, but good to see you back on BGP.

I think beechwood is a year away from a state title. They should win back to back in 14 and 15. Assuming NCC doesn't move down to 1A lol. Rash is a very good coach and beechwood is an excellent program.

If BW shows continued improvement in both performance and play calling with their young team throughout this upcoming season then I agree that they should be postured for a run in 14 and 15. The talent is there but very raw in some areas. If the same said talent is not leveraged to maximize their skills and potential then we close up shop Thanksgiving weekend again. I sense that there is something special brewing in Fort Mitchell and it could be a fun ride.

14 maybe....Mayfield will be reloaded by 15 and then they will have some great players on the way.

As to 1A, based on numbers I saw in another thread, it looks more like NCC, Beechwood and Mayfield may all be battling in 2A in 14 and 15.

Maybe 91 better start worrying about Bw for those years if there is a class change they would be in the Bw cross hairs. I think he might be right, at least in 2014, that will be a reloading project for MF and BW looks poised to be loaded. NCC just never really put much fear in me as they did take us down hard a few years back but historically we have done well against them. Bw looks a lot more scary in the coming years to me. Should Bw and Mf wind up in the same class we likely would be in opposite brackets so we would only see each other if we both made it to the title game. If Bw made it to the title game I would have to imagine that they would be pulling hard for the Cards to make it. (that was assuming we all landed in AA)

Interesting. I didn't think about that. But you are right. In 2A the N. Ky. district is in the east bracket.
