I think that is where many people would disagree with you. If Beechwood continues to lose to Mayfield year after year there is nothing fun about it.

You are correct Guru, if BW cant get over the hurdle it wont be much fun for the folks in Ft. Mitchell. I just have this feeling, not based on any inside knowledge, that this years Tigers are going to open things up a little bit more. Of course that speculation is based on the fine showing of young Mr. Fieger at the end of last year, if he shows growth early in the year, and the defense can compensate for the loss of Nussbaum this year will be a fun one to watch. If those two things dont happen....it will be a long bus ride home from Mayfield....if they get that far.

I still say that this is the year where the Tigers learn alot about Rash. If he continues to run 90% of the time Bw will again be buying tickets to watch the games in BG after smashing 1A teams until the semi finals where it will bite the Tigers on the tail granted I think they will have a uphill climb with the Cards next year reguardless.

 

TP The Tigers will always be an dynasty in my Opinion. You can agree with this or not. Beechwood has only won their state titles in Class A. Mayfield has been in a few different classes. As a former Player and graduate who has lived in Ft Mitchell all their life this streak annoys the heck out of me! Beechwood was the better team in 95 agree or disagree. When Mayfield's starting QB gets knocked out right before the half I thought the Tigers would win this game by at least 14 points. Mike Bright turned the whole game around when he scored right before the half. The Tigers had teams that would have beaten Mayfield Handliy during their back to back state title runs but Mayfield got knocked out before. This streak has to end sooner or later. I agree with what you said about Danville beating you guys. I think of lot of it is in their head. I'm a Red Sox it took 86 years for the Sox to finally end their streak of World Series Titles. I will be 38 in Sept so I hope it doesn't take that long to end the streak. :laugh:

I suppose the million dollar question is exactly what is Beechwood going to do different? Or is the current formula good enough and it is just a matter of needing better players than past years?

We kinda know what Beechwood needs to do to get better and it's been stated, however, any talk thats interesting about HS football is ok with me as long as we keep it kinda civil. It's a long way till August so we might as well talk about this or have no talk at all.

I think we are in a strong position to comment on Bw given we have played every year for awhile now.

 

 

Jason I feel your pain. That 95 game was a great one though I expected to win. Bw will eventually figure it out as they are to good a program not too

I feel like this Beechwood team could get better as the season progresses. But then there is that valley of blah when they hit district play that makes it hard to work on anything meaningful. The last game against NCC is always a dandy but then how much do you want to show and how much do you want to risk injuries right before the start of the playoffs. And then the playoffs are usually is blah the first two weeks also. So that's 1 good game in about 5 or 6 weeks.

Beechwood should be good again this year. I wish we had a discussion about Mayfield like this one about Beechwood.
