Holmes 40 Cooper 39 OT

Featured Replies

I believe the reds won this game for Holmes, late in the game Cooper gets called for a foul that had the Holmes fans wondering what was called! Then Holmes player laying on the floor blatantly grabs the cooper point guards ankle and only a one and one foul is called, that in my opinion and my understanding is two shots plus the ball for cooper flagrant foul. Anyone disagree?

I want to make sure I'm following, Frank. Are you saying they were bad charge calls?

I know of one they didn't call a charge when they should have.

The officiating was fine until the 4th and then it got ugly starting on the phantom foul on AJ Collins, the travel call on AJ when he was DRIBBLING under the basket and the ref at halfcourt calls a travel while the one right in front of AJ knew it wasn't a travel and to top it off can someone explain to me how when a Holmes player is laying on the floor and grabs and holds Morgans ankle how that isn't an intentional foul or a technical to say the least? Instead just a foul called and Aaron misses the front end of a one and one. It was bad officiating to say the least in the last period.

Cooper should of won by 8 but unfortunately the game was decided not by the players on the court which was sad.

Congrats to Cooper who showed to many who said there were only 3 good teams in this region that one of the best who they never thought of being that good showed who the best team was today. Sitting next to 2 Newport fans today they continually stated how there were only 3 good teams in this region and Cooper was one of the bad teams.

I can deal with all the bull crap calls by the refs and the foul disparity but to not call this an intentional foul was ludacris!!! Everybody in the arena saw it but the ref standing right over the play. That was a joke in my opinion. Not much more Cooper could have done in this game. Hats off to Holmes but I'll take the Jags defense as it was outstanding today. Sullivan is COY in my opinion. Gets the most out of everything he's got.

Congrats Jags on a great season. The future is bright and you are way ahead of schedule. Keep working.

paNDA or Bolden...I would argue both :D

Agreed! Sad way for their season to end.

The officiating was consistent and I thought the bad calls pretty much were even until the last 6 minutes when they struggled and therefore became the focal point. They hit rough stretch where the majority of the bad calls went against Cooper (in fact about a string of 5) which I'm sure will upset the Cooper fans. The phantom foul out front led to a 1 and 1 which Holmes missed but then got away with a pushoff under the basket on the rebound. From there it kind of got worse. I think they missed an obviously carry on the final possession of regulation by Bolden when he put the ball behind his back and then lost control and carried it over but he missed the shot so it was quickly forgotten.

Welcome to our world guys with the officiating. Ninth region officials were much better with the exception of Pouncy he is by far the worst I have ever seen in 41 years of watching basketball.

I'm with Jay Bilas that most refs on any level either don't understand charge/block rule or don't know how to call it. Its become to common to reward bad defense with a charge call.

I was wondering if anyone else saw the carry. It seemed pretty obvious to me and unnless he does a crossover he tends to carry the ball a lot when changing directions.. Glad you saw that too.

Bolden has the ball at the end of regulation, puts a great move on the man guarding him and takes the shot. Bolden has the ball at the end of overtime, puts a great move on the man guarding him and takes the shot.

The move is the important thing.

(whether he hits the shot or not is irrelevant.):eyeonyou::scared::isurrender:
