Highlands 46 Scott 38

This was not a district game. Just a game where he let them play and is going to fix what was going wrong at practice. Lets be real no high school player or coach dreams of beating Highlands in a non region basketball game.

Look I get where you are coming from but I still think anytime Highlands plays any Team they have a bullseye on their back. Jmo

I'm sure that Mike Flynn is in his final year as the head coach of the Bluebirds. I'm convinced that Mike Listerman will be the next head coach and his style will be much more embraced by the Fort Thomas faithful than would Brad Carr's.

We all know that Mike Flynn's scheduled last year is supposed to be next year, but would not be surprised if he is done. Not sure why Highlands would want to hire Mike Listerman who has also been around the block a time or two. This program needs to find someone a little younger that can put some enthusiasm back into the program and have it grow much like the football and baseball teams have done. JB has done a lot of work to bring the baseball program back to a level where they can compete pretty much with anyone in the region. Having played for and knowing Coach Listerman, I cannot believe that he would want to take on the football issue as I have heard that he was not keen on having basketball players that also played football thus he would have no roster at HHS. Not really sure who would want this job if it were to come open to be honest. Perhaps Josh Feldman would like to have the position to get back into the boys side of things. What about Scott Code, or were things so bad at Campbell that he would not be a good fit?

Will be real interesting to see how things turn out that is for sure.

Highlands used to be a power in basketball up till a few years ago. Only Holmes has more 9th region championships than Highlands does. Knowing Brad like I do, he hates to lose....period.

Well.....I hate to agree with Q but I am going to. Beating Highlands is always good no matter how good or bad the Highlands team is. Just the way it is......................

What about Coach Jimmy Pangallo for head coaching job. Maybe we can have Zach Pangallo and Drew McDonald transfer in. They are related to JB maybe he can persuade them. Lol

Just a guess, but I don't think you'll ever see a Pangallo coaching at Brossart or Highlands.

Things were not at all bad at Campbell. Scott Code was let go because the powers didn't like his style of winning.

I think Listerman would jump on the Highlands job in a heartbeat. He is presently the varsity assistant at Holmes, with deep roots in the Fort Thomas program. Being a varsity assistant is not like being the head coach. My guess is that Mike still wants to be a head coach for his last few years until retirement.

I think that he would feel that he and some of his old cronies might be able to re-invent themselves at Highlands.

Eh... I guess there is a little of that, but not to the point where Highlands gets everyone's best shot.

Don't know about that, but Ron Dawn almost was the head coach at (gasp!) Holmes a few years ago.... stranger things have happened.

Things were not at all bad at Campbell. Scott Code was let go because the powers didn't like his style of winning.

But you made my exact point. If people want the basketball program to be kind of stuck where it currently is then you might hire Mike Listerman. If you want it to start moving forward you get a younger coach who would have the patience and enthusiasm to build this thing back up. My money is still on Josh Feldman being the front runner if and when it opens up. I would be fine with Brad Carr or even Rod Snapp from Newport.

I think Scott Draud would be good and the basketball only guys would follow him to town per the TommyB theory. JMO. He also has a son coming up. I know there are some who'll disagree because he didn't win a region, but Dixie was winning 25 games a year for a few years.

I also wouldn't mind seeing Brad Carr. He may have to change his coaching style just a bit. I'm not sure that a lot of yelling is effective in this day and age. I'd like to see the philospohy of generating offense with good defense and make it fun for the players to a part of the program. The few games I saw, the players had a look of concern before the game even started. They weren't enthusiastic or having fun at all. I don't know if that's the norm?

I also think you have to embrace the football program and work together as much as possible. No reason to even schedule games before Mid-December if you're going to have a lot of football guys playing. You could take more time to get your team ready, rather than jumping into play a few days after a football finals, so when you do play, you have a better idea of your teams strengths and weaknesses.

A couple of questionable calls at the end. Definitely heard Mr.Pop screaming from across the gym. Actually the referee (Perry Wing) heard him say that then called a technical on the bench. I heard another fan say that his come over was stuck in his eye sight. But bad officiating is what you expect playing in the ninth region. Congrats to the Bluebirds. Huge W.

I assume you mean "comb over" vs. "come over"? If so, I talked with Perry today and let me tell you the man has a thick head of hair, no comb over action at all...

I will say this, Perry is as entertaining as they come. :D

His last year is next year? How is that?

His last year is next year? How is that?

That is apparently what he has informed the administration and others in the program. His wife will be retired and then they are moving to South Carolina. This is no great surprise to anyone. The only surprise will be if he decides to go after this year.

Now I know you have lost your mind. Draud??????????????????? Absolutely would bury the program even further IMO.
