Highlands 46 Scott 38

Featured Replies

I guess the referees missed all those field goal attempts and free throws. They probably defended the Eagles as well. It was probably a ref that gave Jackson a facial at the end of the game also. Nope, it was sophomore Parker Harris.

90% of the fouls called against Scott were legit.

I Hate hearing lame excuses.

Enough with your trash talk. It's a joke. It doesn't matter. highlands probably won't even make it out of district. Scott probably will. Lets talk more when games actually count!

Dont be so sure of that, the Camels are playing much better than your Eagles. My money is on Mcgovney and Holbrook to send em home early. But I did wish them good luck in my earlier post.

I'm still waiting for your recap in the Brossart vs. Scott thread from last week. You were awful quiet after that game?

Camels playing better? Lets see, they beat Augusta, a very, very banged up SK team, and lost to Fleming Co. at home. I have seen both teams play a lot the last 3 weeks. Scott beat Perry Central, played CovCath, Holmes, & Montgomery Co. very tight, beat Conner on the road. Schedule and a dominating 25point win against the Camels give the Eagles the advantage.

Also, coaching advantage to the Eagles!!

Forgot they got popped by Brossart along the way, but I agree that Brad is working them to get ready for the District showdown. Sent a message to the players at the end of the BB game, and it sounds like another last night?

To be honest this game means nothing to the Eagles

Brad Carr is a good dude and a fierce competitor and I highly doubt that this game meant nothing to Scott...Just sayin

Fast Facts

Brad Carr attended Highlands for a few years back in the 80's but transferred back to Holmes.

He also applied for the Highlands job 4 yrs ago and from what I hear made the very short list. How much better would the Bird program be if he would have been named HC? Hmmmmm

Wasn't there so can't comment on officiating however complaints about poor officiating on BGP don't seem to be relegated just to the Scott supporters. Seems to be be a pretty common thread.

Preseason I thought this Scott team had the opportunity to be Coach Carr's best team ever. This group had won the CovCath frosh tourney and had stayed relatively intact. They had a full season as starters and rotational players under Carr last year and produced I think a .500 (15-15) record. They lacked a true post but most teams don't have that player and HS basketball is a guards game.

With all of that being said my opinion is that this team with a .500 record has underachieved. Carr has always played a tough schedule so this years schedule is no different than years past.

To say that this game meant nothing to Scott is so anti Carr and not what they have built the programs recent success around. While his post game message might have been to move on and get ready for districts I would be very surprised if he said those things pregame.

Carr is still one of the best coaches in the area and if this group is able to put together a run and win district and win a couple of games come regional time they still have an opportunity to salvage the season.

I suspect that he would have been run out of town by now by the Fort Thomas parents and admin. While Brad Carr is a great fit at Scott and their admin understands him, that would not be the case just anywhere, especially in socially sensitive Fort Thomas.

I'm sure that Mike Flynn is in his final year as the head coach of the Bluebirds. I'm convinced that Mike Listerman will be the next head coach and his style will be much more embraced by the Fort Thomas faithful than would Brad Carr's.

Layman's meaning of "socially sensitive"? Does that mean wouldn't tolerate yelling and rants? I don't necessarily disagree that that's true of Ft. Thomas, but if that's the definition, I think everywhere is more "socially sensitive" now.

This was not a district game. Just a game where he let them play and is going to fix what was going wrong at practice. Lets be real no high school player or coach dreams of beating Highlands in a non region basketball game.

Brad and his quite effective coaching style is sort of grandfathered in at Scott. They know what they have, are successful at it and it works for them.

IF Brad were to go elsewhere, he would probably be asked to tone it down, which would not be him, and could cause him to be not quite as successful as he has been by being himself at Scott.
