They did the same thing about 3 weeks ago. I talked to one of the waitresses and she said mid-late August was their expected reopening. :idunno:

 

Yeah, I got there too late that day when they ran out of food. Glad they rescheduled to another Tuesday.

Not a fan of the Knuk-N=Futz food. Just simple bar food to me, their wings are the Buffalo Wings and Rings recipe. That said, I do like the atmosphere, lots of fun.

Place seemed dirty to me. Friendly folks for sure and decent bar food.

Not because of the construction. Back in May, they had their second fire in two years.

Couldn't think where else to post this even though this thread reports positively on places. I had a rather negative experience last night at a place I had previously touted. Started off at the levee last night to catch the free concert and run through goetta fest. Stopped by Bayou Fish house and had the goetta fish taco and Mrs. Crunch had the Bayou Goetta bites. Had I known what was in store I would have just stayed there and ate. It was very good. Next we went back up to have a beer and listen to the band. Naked Karate Girls. Two songs in and that was it. They're horrible. Now the fun part. Was with another couple and we decided to find a bar stool where beer and food would be cheaper. Went to a place where we have gone a bunch of times. Shortnecks. When owned by the owners of Longnecks, we really liked the place. NEVER had a problem off any sort. Well they are now under new ownership, and yes there is a difference. Our last couple of times were somewhat disappointing to being out of the beer we drink. To the food sliding in preparation and quality. But last night was the last straw. We walked in and the place was dead. Ordered a bucket and all was well. Couple more people come in and we notice the barpretender is starting to struggle. One girl stands at the bar waiting for service for about 10 minutes, gives up and walks out. Then some dude walks in without a shirt asking 4 napkins for a cut. Takes about 5 minutes before someone runs the guy. So we're getting hungry a want to put in an order. Bar tender says be with us in a sec cause it is really busy. It wasn't. We finally order. Yay! About 20 minutes later as we sit with out a drink we are informed that the kitchen, one guy, is behind and food will be out shortly. I order a Shandy and Mrs. Crunch orders a bottle beer they have displayed call Fox Barrel. She bring the beer and then tells my wife she can't ring it up because its not in the system. Well she gave it to us for free. Sit for a little while still no food. My sister says they have to leave and are going to get there's boxed. We have noticed that some food has been sitting in the pass for some time. My wife asks about it and the girl goes and checks. Comes back and say food is coming. I'm thinking if that s my food thats been sitting there it going to be cold. Now we witness a dispute between cook and girl with her holding a ticket in her hand. It has to be something with our order, as the place had cleared out. That was it, I get girl over and ask for bill and tell her to not charge me for any food as non was served. My sister tell her the same thing. We get our bills and the food is on the bill. I couldn't see straight. Paid cash for the beer we drank and left. Will never go back. Too bad. It used to be a place that was pretty quiet, close, and provided a good experience. Don't expect them to last long...

First of all agree the band last night sucked. Too loud and they should just play music versus dressing up and acting likes fools. I was way in the back paying the $5 bucks a pop for the cooldies. Never did get to check out Ghetta fest.

Did not know shortnecks changed ownership. How long has it been? I ate lunch there a month or so ago and was less than impressed. Service sucked, with no one else in the place. Food was marginal.

I do know Longnecks is set to open another location in Florence this week. Never had an issue there.

I always thought the service was pretty poor there as well - any I'm not one to complain about that type of thing either. Food was alright, but nothing special. I don't avoid it, per se, but I don't ever put forth any efforts to go there.
