Where will Jason Hatcher land?

Featured Replies

So we're basing our belief that Hatcher is coming to UK on the word of a person who a week ago said her son definitely was going to USC?

Someone at ESPN believes it.

Just saw the Bottom line report about committing to UK.

First, you guys like to lump everyone together. Secondly, would I like him to commit to U of L? Sure. I just don't think it's in the Cards (pun intended), for both parties to come together on their wants.

In regards to my issues with Jason......I will keep them in PM only.

*In regards to Beatty's treatment with Jason, I'll just say, he spent plenty of time sitting out. Plenty.

I'd heard some less than favorable comments about Hatcher over the last couple of years (about Quick too for that matter). Negative comments about Hatcher mainly dealt with work ethic. One could plainly see that during his junior year in particular, he took a lot of plays off. But his senior year, he did a much better job going full bore a lot more of the time. I'd heard Beatty benched him at times. But Hatcher's conduct obviously wasn't bad enough to merit being kicked off the team. I'd hope that Hatcher, being faced with tougher competition to see and stay on the field in college, will improve whatever shortcomings he has in his work ethic. Glad to read that you, as a UL fan, would want him to be at UL. I sure as heck want him to come to UK. Don't know what will happen at 3 today, but if he comes to UK, I'll be really happy.

Any clue where Bertram, Jordan and Bryant are going to play college ball (if at all)? Those 3 didn't get enough credit publicly for their outstanding play this past season. Each of them really impressed me when I watched the Rocks.

Bertram and Jordan will go to WKU as preferred walk-ons. At least that is my understanding. Congrats to them both! No word on Bobby Bryant.

Bryant may end up wrestling somewhere. He is a heck of a wrestler.

In my defense, all I did is say that I trust info from AllTell. I haven't said anything negative about any kid.

Thanks folks for the info on Betram, Jordan and Bryant. Wish them much success in their college endeavors. They were very good high school football players and I'm glad I got to watch them play.

Never forget young men that you go to college to get an education and degree. Make sure such remains your first and only priority.

I've known Jason since he was in the 6th grade and I have seen him be successful on the field and on the court. I hope he ends up in the blue and white for which it would be a huge get for the Cats!

In regard to speculations of his work ethic and attitude I believe it is nothing coach stoops can't handle. Where ever Jason ends up he will make an impact and I wish him the best!

And I think this is getting lost in all the "hope he is not on my team" talk. All high school players have to learn a new work ethic at the collegiate level. Some just more than others.

I wouldn't mind if he was at UL. But someone questioned AT's knowledge of Jason Hatcher. AT may be the one person on BGP with credible knowledge of him. My post was endorsing AT's credibility, not where I would like to see Jason play.

The only negative I've heard about Quick is that perhaps he wasn't as diligent as he should have been in the weight room. When you "weigh" that against his results, he still co0mes out looking pretty good.

I'd take him at UK in a heart beat too! :thumb:

I've never understood the infatuation or the knock against skill kids in the weight room. The same could be said about linemen not wanting to put in the work on the track.

I'm with you on taking him. How much a kid like that as his postion bench presses is the least of my worries. You can put 50 lbs on you bench press, any kid can. But, his speed is the only thing I'm concerned about. He'll get the strength he needs.
