May 6, 201313 yr Author I haven't updated in a while but I'm down to 227 now. Kind of hit a wall and get get past the 225-230 range. Really need to work on my diet to get past it. Keep it going! Don't get discouraged. You've made good progress.
May 6, 201313 yr :notworthy: :not worthy:   :thumb: You did it!! I'm so impressed! Thank you. Keep with it and you'll be there in no time. I started running 4 years ago and tri's last year with no bike experience.
May 6, 201313 yr Thanks man! Try 7 hours! When I said "fell all the way apart" and "took forever" I meant it. :lol2: My first one took just under 7 hours and really had no clue what I was doing nutrition wise. I had to go to the medic tent post-race and hooked up to 2 IVs. My second one last fall I did in 5:33 and felt much better. Knocked 27 minutes off the swim and almost an hour off the run.

That's kinda how I am as far as weight goes. Stuck in that 195-200 range. Still losing around my waste and still gaining strength so I'm not sweating it too much but 185 sure would be cool. Like you said, diets a big part.
May 6, 201313 yr My workout at the gym went very smooth. I did six exercises for my triceps The first exercise it was three sets of 30 the rest of them was 2 sets of 15 I always do back extensions seems to help my bad back, it was two sets of 15 three different exercises for my gut(I do not have abs) Day three of insanity was good though I missed the first 15 minutes. My brother started without me. I laid down at 2 and did not get up until 5:37. I did not think I was going to sleep so long and he did not wake me up thinking I was sick. I told him from now on to wake me up. I weighed in today down 2 pounds from last week. I am also using myfitnesspal.com to track my food/calorie intake and to get a estimate on calories burnt. Good luck everyone just take it one day at a time.
May 6, 201313 yr Author ^Recovery week workout. I thought it was going to be a waste of time, but it was good. All those exercises like suicides, Heisman, power squats, level 1 drills, mummy kicks, power jumps, etc-----instead of doing them really fast for 30 seconds each then switching, you do each one for a minute at a steady pace. Plus some new core strengthening stuff. It was a good workout, but I didn't feel like I had to lie down afterward. :lol2: A few more days of this and I move on to month 2. My neighbor said those workouts are at least 60 min each, so I need to plan that into daily schedule.
May 6, 201313 yr As we discussed earlier there are a lot more accurate ways to get your fat % but this thread got me thinking. I never adjusted the settings on my scale to male athlete which I think many would agree I'm a lot closer to than male average. I did so today and it dropped a pretty good amount. Still high but it was at 15.5 % vs close to 20
May 7, 201313 yr Author Shout out to all of you sweating and working toward your goals! We filled up 50 pages of supporting and cheering each other on! :dancingpa
May 7, 201313 yr Everyone in this thread should buy a copy of Kelly Starretts new book Becoming a Supple Leopard. Especially if you have flexibility/mobility issues or pain in your shoulders, hips, back, what ever from working out. I will be ordering my copy this week from Amazon.

May 7, 201313 yr What all does he/she discuss? Kelly (he) is a physical therapist that runs the website www.mobilitywod.com. He posts daily mobility workouts for different parts of the body to improve flexibility, mobility and help with pain you may be having. His new book is pretty much a 400 page manual on how to maintain your body from a mobility stand point, basic maintance is what he calls it I believe. If your interested in it Barnes and Nobles carries it so you can thumb through it there. But I would order if you want it. It's $60 if you buy it in the store, $35 from amazon.
May 7, 201313 yr Not sure how day four will go because my calf's are so sore it hurts to walk. They have gotten more sore since I started this. Did anyone else experience this doing insanity?
May 7, 201313 yr Author Not sure how day four will go because my calf's are so sore it hurts to walk. They have gotten more sore since I started this. Did anyone else experience this doing insanity? I did not have calf problems. Maybe a good calf stretch before you begin?
May 7, 201313 yr Did clean and jerk tonight at crossfit. PR'ed at 185lbs, was pretty pumped. I could have probably cleaned another 5 or 10 pounds but not sure I could have jerked it.
