Has anyone heard of a girl named Holly Mangold? She is NFL player, Nick Mangold's younger sister and weighs 320lbs. She can deadlift 675lbs, Squat 475lbs as well as bench over 325lbs. I think she is either a Sr in HS or in college currently. Tracy Jones was interviewing her dad on 700wlw yesterday.

Apparently she is going to be participating in the Olympics. That is crazy strength.

Holly is college age or just past it.

I believe she competed in the last Olympics. 2nd ranked American Heavyweight lifter. She trains at the OTC in Colorado Springs.

She did compete in 2012, finished 10th. She competes in the top class and has some work to do if she is going to be a serious threat.
Yea my son is extra motivation. He is a workout freak and has me ordering all kinds of different proteins. He has packed on 8 lbs of lean muscle since hoops ended last month. He doesn't eat any junk food, watches sodium intake and has his body fat down below 8%. All he keeps saying is Punta Cana is 2 weeks away. Sr Spring Break Trip.

I can't stress enough though how much diet plays into shredding your body. Sodium is so bad and sugars as well. Took me a month to get used to eating right.

You need iodine, so you can't cut all sodium, don't let that scare you. T NATION | The Iodine Deficiency Epidemic . Sugars and refined carbs, there I definitely agree. Your son was built real well during basketball. He puts on any more lean mass, he'll look like a red headed Guidugli.

Couldn't agree more. You want to lose that softness around your waste line, lose the sugars and refined carbs. You will be amazed at how fast it will disappear.

Thanks, pretty sure I'm going to be having nightmares about this tonight.

He is cut up pretty good right now but plans to increase his caloric intake to 4200 cals a day after Spring Break. He is pretty well versed on nutrition and constantly reads about it online. He's the first to read my Men's Health when it arrives every month.

I will check out the link, thanks.

It sucks having to recover from a dislocated big toe. Can't really do much if anything but I'm not drowning my sorrows in food though. Still just eating like I was before so that's good. Haven't weighed myself in about a month either so not sure what my weight is at.

I've been keeping up with my weight using my belt. When I first started I was wearing a size 40 belt and was between the first and second notch. Now I'm on the 5th and 6th notch (which are the last two).

Do you send him to WieFit? If not I would suggest it, plus the owner Brian is a cake eater.

Still fighting shoulder issue. Can do nothing for chest or shoulders. I can work back bis and tris, jus some stuff I can't do. Tired of cardio, legs and abs. I have lost 5 lbs, and I know its muscle. Trying not to go to the docs, but one more sleepless night and I guess I'm going. This sucks.

No, I know Brian very well and he is awesome at what he does. However, my wife has competed before in fitness competitions so along with her knowledge and my son's obsessiveness with reading up on fitness we dont feel it is needed. He is not cheap also. However, he has cornered the market for HS athletes as I know a ton that go to him and some have seen great results while others have struggled with gaining size. He has a great staff down there as well of former Highlands/NCC kids.

Get it fixed and start the rebuilding process. Sounds like you have been pretty dedicated to fitness here for a while. Good Luck

Tabata workout this morning at CrossFit, then home to an ice bath.

Spent the morning at Commonwealth Orthopedic this morning(I think that's the name) back was sore at work from sitting all day thursday, went home slept, woke up and it hurt even worse but I figured maybe I just slept wrong(dumb move), went to the gym and like an idiot thought I'd do back to hopefully losen it up and work whatever it was out. While doing supine row I felt something pop and had to immediately let go of the bar. So I finished up and thought wow that sucked I'll just take it easy for a while. Well at work last night the pain got so bad that wow walking I literally almost went to my knees with pain. I've either torn a muscle or severely tweaked it. Steroids for a week and hopefully it just heals up. It's extremely sharp shooting pain though and it hurts throughout my entire scapula area when I try to swallow food/drink, the only pain worse than this that I've ever felt was when I tored my ACL. This blows.

Last time I had a problem, Dr. was convinced it was a rotator. MRI revealed inflamed rotator and sever arthritis. Took about 6 mos. of being very careful and building shoulder muscles, before I felt pretty good. One mishap under a barbell and here I am again. Just working through it again.
