Don't worry about the scale. How do your pants fit? Use that measurement.

They are definitely not as tight. :thumb:

Never ever lifted weights. It was taboo for bball players back in the day. So when I did begin strength training, a big goal was to bench press more than my body weight. Did it yesterday!! Not too bad for a dude that hits 50 this year.

Congratulations!

I have to say that the hard work and results of everyone in this thread continue to keep me motivated and looking forward to that day soon when I can begin to really apply myself to continuing my fitness and weight loss plan. I see my doctor a week from today and I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I have to say, too, that I need the boost mentally and emotionally. I am in a quandry on whether or not to have radiation for my cancer treatment and even though my prognosis is good without it (only a 6% chance of recurrence) I have never been the luckiest with odds, so I seem to concentrate on what if I am in that 6%? I think that getting my mind off of it and focusing on fitness/weightloss will help me not think about it all of the time.

Anyway, I read what you all are doing daily, even if I don't respond. Keep up the GREAT work! Definitely don't focus on the scale. Focus on the loosening pant waistlines! Also, please remember how important that nutrition is. Fitness isn't just about losing weight and how you look. It is about keeping your heart and other internal organs in their best condition and nutrition is a big part of that. I wish that I had focused on that years ago and maybe I wouldn't be in the place that I am now with my cancer worries.

But you know now. I guarantee that you will stick to this more than many of us. Your outlook is very sharp, strong, and postitive. Keep fighting the fight, we're all behind you. A good thing to do now is to set goals to attain. That way you have a very clear vision on where you will be a year from now.

Workout done---check

I did 3 sets of 8 burpees today and tan a lap after each ser. I felt like they were pukees. Very hard to do When you have been out of the game for a while.

Speaking of burpees, the workout we did saturday was a 2 person team WOD. It had 100 lateral burpees per team. Meaning as a team you had to do 100. A lateral burpee is when one person lays on the ground and the other does the burpee next them only when you jump you jump over the person. You can swap up however ever you want. We were switching every 5-10.

They are nowhere near as bad as Turkish getups. Those are HORRIBLE.

Awesome!! I know some boot camp participants that are going to hate that I just saw that:lol:
