January 11, 201313 yr Author I'm definitely running tomorrow. My wife has started too. She's never been a runner so I'm quite a bit ahead of her but the goal is to run a 5k together at some point. My personal goal for the end of the year is a half marathon. I doubt Ill ever be interested in trying a marathon. I might do a tough mudder if it ever comes back to ky. Great goals! And achievable, too for you both! :dancingpa
January 11, 201313 yr I just got back from a late night jog(couldn't go this morning because it was raining). I probably went 5 miles or so because it took about 45 minutes. I must say running at night seemed much easier. I think it's because I had a days worth of food in my belly. Normally I run in the morning before I eat breakfast.
January 11, 201313 yr Author ^Interesting. I think it's easier physically to work out at night. But mentally, it's easier to get up and early do it so it's done.

I think it's definitely easier mentally in the morning because you know you're getting it done and out of the way. I really enjoy running most days, but I'm definitely happy to be done at the end.
January 11, 201313 yr Running in the morning after the chest and back workout. Probably need to get to bed.
January 11, 201313 yr I've been in Gatlingburgh since Monday for our sales meeting. Just got back yesterday and working out this morning after slacking most of the week. This morning will be chest. hope to get back to my crossfit gym after work.

January 11, 201313 yr Author Great Fitness Day! (for a Rookie ) Went for a 3 mile jog/walk. Found I was able to jog for longer stretches, so that's progress! Just finished Day 2 of 30 Day Shred. Used heavier hand weights so more progress! How about you?
January 11, 201313 yr I'm actually going to do a 2.5 mile run. Indoor soccer starts next weekend and I want to do a little distance w/ the treadmill sprints I started last week. From .7 miles to 1.75 is a hill, down and up. It is all about time on this, as fast as I can. 22 minutes would be great for not having done it in awhile.
January 11, 201313 yr Here's a short term springboard that is very, very hard to stick with. If you can afford it, which many can't, it works pretty well to get a good jump start. Just make sure that you slowly phase back in your solid meals so that your body adjusts its metabolism. The goal of this is to shock your system into appreciating food for what it is and divorcing yourself from the emotions that go with it. VELOCITY LIFE | The New Science of Rapid Body Transformation
January 12, 201313 yr So I've got a question. Like I've mentioned before I've started the C25K process which consists of running 3 days a week 30 minutes at a time. Was planning on doing this Wed's,Fri,Sunday after my lifting workouts. With time constraints I'm either going to have to get up and to the gym atleast 45 minutes earlier or maybe split my workout in two and do weights in the am before work and cardio/running in the PM after work only on those 3 days. My other days would still be the same with primarily lifting in the morning. Was wondering if you all had any feedback as to whether or not splitting it up is bad or good, as well as whether or not cardio or weights are better in the AM or PM. I've read some stuff on this myself that suggests that lifting may be better in the PM because of your body's core temperature being higher at that time but to be honest I prefer lifting in the AM. Just wondering if you all had any insight/suggestions?
January 12, 201313 yr I've read and heard differing opinions on training on an empty stomach. Some are for it and some against. I've always lifted in the morning and never had an issue. As far as splitting your work out, you should no problems with it.
January 12, 201313 yr Hit the crossfit gym this afternoon. PR'ed on over head squat at 75lbs, I know not much but huge gains for me. Last I tried I couldn't do the bar. I also PR'ed on front squat at 205lbs. After lifting I did 2 muscle ups in a row for the first time. Our conditioning work was 3x400M run. Rest 2 mins in between each 400M. For every 5 second variance from you fastest time gives you a 10 burpee penalty. I hit 1:42, 1:37, and 1:32. Did 10 burpees and called it good.
January 12, 201313 yr Down 12 pounds since last Tuesday. Finally done with inventory at work and I stopped by to check the local gym out today. Rates seem OK so I should start working out next week.
