I went last night after work at 10:30. Boy was I tired when I got home. I didn't even make dinner just passed out. My stomach growling is what just woke me up actually.

Goals? Would like to lose 20 pounds. For me, this has to start with a serious exercise program. The diet then falls in place and is easier to stick with once I'm feeling good about the exercise success. 20 years ago I was a marathon runner, that was my thing, and the fitness/diet all fell in place around that.

Going to buy Insanity today. Need to kick it into high gear.

Could not find Insanity. Just did Day 1 of 30 Day Shred. Goal is to do it every day until Feb. 10, then revise goals. What do you think, Mex?

I'm really not a person to give advice for particular people. If you are using the shred as a spring board to jump start fat loss, it is similar to what I am doing now. However, I'd set my goals now so that you are transitioning into something and not losing momentum. Do you want to get stronger? Do you want to get leaner? Do you want to powerlift? Do you want to bodybuild? Do you want to become more athletic? Pick something that you want to do, and I'll find an article for you. Remember though, don't crash your diet. It is a lifestyle change, not a fad. Learn to eat right during this rip thing and carry that with you for the rest of the year. If you need more help w/ a diet, go to Welcome to WieFIT. Brian and Aaron are great and have helped a few people on this site. They take internet clients. You can find workouts also.

Mex, my goal is to get leaner.

Here are some measurements I've taken recently. After letting myself go and several of my swim partners raving about a trainer here I decided to start going. I signed up for a 4-month commitment starting in November with one goal: get faster swimming, biking, and running.

10/29/2012

Body Fat Percentage: 15.63%

Lean Body Weight: 129.51

Body Fat: 23.99

Total Body Weight: 153.50

12/11/2012

Body Fat Percentage: 13.65%

Lean Body Weight: 131.68

Body Fat: 20.82

Total Body Weight: 152.50

As of the 12/11 measurement I hadn't changed my diet ANY (if anything I ate worse). I have been eating really good the last two weeks (except for wrestling tourny's). Would like to get under 10% before the 4-months is up. I'm already seeing lots of improvement in the tri disciplines. I'm posting this for two reasons 1) to track myself and keep accountability and 2) to show that it's ok to get help in order to meet your goal.

I ran this morning as usual, but then I was pushed for time so instead of lifting, I did 4 X 5 burpees resting about a minute between. They didn't feel like much as I was doing them, but I was huffing and puffing during the interval. Thanks to the posters for that idea!

Good work, Doomer!

Good work. We did 3x15 tonight and I thought I was gonna vomit.

I ran for about 10 minutes today and then did a leg workout.

Great job, Halfback! How did the run feel?

Not bad. I've been slowly easing back into running. The first few days were pretty miserable but its getting better each day. I just gotta stick with it and run consistently to get through the bad days.

The sooner you do it, the sooner the bad days are behind you. (I'm saying that for myself, too.). Keep it up, Halfback!

I'm definitely running tomorrow. My wife has started too. She's never been a runner so I'm quite a bit ahead of her but the goal is to run a 5k together at some point.

My personal goal for the end of the year is a half marathon. I doubt Ill ever be interested in trying a marathon.

I might do a tough mudder if it ever comes back to ky.
