Ok the game is 3 days away and there is no thread or trash talking. Either everyone is hungover from Christmas Leftovers or UK fans dont think they have a chance to win?

Kentucky absolutely has a chance in this one. If (obviously big if) they can limit turnovers, I expect to be right in this.

UL is favored as well they should be, but sometimes that means nothing in a rivalry game like this. If Goodwin plays like he has lately UK is in trouble. Also if Wiltjer isn't hitting 3's in this one, he will be lost and useless, JMO. Looking forward to it though. It's always exciting and competitive.

I think it will be a solid game, but I do look for the Cards to pull away in second half. I think they are too deep and will wear down the Cats.

I would feel a lot better about this game if it was at Rupp. Let's get a poll.

I am sure UK fans think the Cats have a chance. I also believe the vast majority of them expect UL to win. Finally, I also believe there will plenty of UK fans on here chirping if the Cats somehow pull off the upset.

My head says UL but anything is possible in these rivalry games. I look forward to watching it.

I was thinking 8-10.

If Siva and Smith play at the top of their game, UK has little chance, I believe. UL is much deeper than the Cats and has better ball handlers and better pressure. UK could pull the upset if their front line (especially Noel) is able to control UL's. How will Dieng respond in his first game back? Blackshear has been playing much better, and so has Ware to a lesser degree. Rick is 0-4 against Cal at Kentucky. I say UL wins but not by a blowout.

The two biggest factors in determining the outcome of this game are:

 

1) How effective will Dieng be? Because he will be playing.

 

2) How tightly will this game be called?

 

Last few years have seen this game called very tightly, and that's not to Louisville's benefit.

 

If Dieng isn't effective and Louisville has to deal with early foul trouble, I would honestly expect UK to win. Flip either switch, and I would like Louisville in a close game. If both break Louisville's way, I could see a blowout.

I agree with all of this.

 

I'm not so sure the games were called tightly the last two years or UL was trying to make it like that. Part of the issue was you had matchups such as Kyle Kuric on MKG. I don't recall the officiating from two years ago, but last year it seemed like UL tried to make it a hack fest.
