He's the quintessential idiot super fan. He brings no insight, analysis, experience or genuine inside connections to the table--but he's very good at his job if you recognize what it is.

 

I agree with your generalization of his job but check it out and there is no reason to say what they are saying. And for you to basically back them up and defend what they are saying just prices my point regarding UL fans.

I said that there's always a reason to trash Matt Jones, and said why I felt that way. I never said what they're saying (whatever it is) is acceptable. See the difference?

 

Bill Cunningham thinks Jones is great.

 

If I already didn't have a bad opinion of Jones, seeing that Cunningham thinks he is great would form the negative opinion for me itself.

Jones said on the Thursday KSR show that Cauley-Stein would start instead of Poythress. So to say he has no inside connections is very inaccurate. He is sometimes wrong and brings a lot of the vitriol upon himself and he nitpicks about stupid things a lot. But his non-recruiting information is often reliable..at least as of late it has been.
