Jack Taylor never met a shot he didn't like.

52-108 FG

27-71 3-pt FG

7-10 FT

What a ball hog. 108 shots?

That's a lot of shots but if you're shooting at close to 50% then you'd better keep on shooting the ball. Now how was his defense, did he have any steals?

His teammates kept feeding him the ball. In their words, they wanted to "ride the wave."

How on Earth do you score 138 points? - College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN

From an ESPN article:

(Editor's Note: You absolutely must check out this box score. And not to be lost in all of the hoopla over Taylor, Faith Baptist Bible's David Larson made 34 of 44 shots for 70 points! Greatest performance ever in a game in which your team lost by 75? We think so.) Grinnell College Athletics - Men's Basketball vs Faith Baptist on 11/20/2012

"I don't really care how you score 138 points. It's 138 points! The sheer act of getting up 108 shots in a 40-minute game is in and of itself an impressive athletic accomplishment, regardless of how many go in."

Wow! Does not happen every day. Hat's off to Taylor and Grinnell. I love this game!

Here's a shocker. They said this morning that he had no assists.

The real test will come later in the season when they take on Southwest Holiness Pentacostal.

The box score is priceless.

He was scoring 3.8 points per minute. If the would have just let him play the full 40, he could have gone for 150+.

The team scored 179 points and there were only 2 players that scored in double figures. Possibly only trumped by their opponent scoring 104 points with only ONE player in double figures.

I guess the good news for Faith Baptist Bible is that this game was an exhibition for them, so technically, it didn't count

I'd rather see a TEAM performance like the way Butler just cut UNC to pieces than some kid shooting 108 times in a game any day.

Agreed.

Wouldn't want to get in the food line behind him tomorrow. He would no doubt pick the turkey carcass clean. 138 points, 0 assists. Child Please :rolleyes:

I remember that was kind of the thought process that Highlands used when they had Scott Draud years ago. Feed him the ball and let him shoot. but 100 + shots. Wow

He had 58 at halftime and THEN he got hot!
