Call me old. Call me old school. Call me whatever.

This is crap! The coach should be embarrassed and the kid should be embarrassed.

Up 70 late and the kid is still chucking up shots.

Not saying it's justified, but an elbow to the sack would stop this.

They pressing up that much?

Comments from a former player:

"The strategy was to use a full court press after a made basket, with the caveat that [the player seeking the record] would not cross into the defensive side of the court. So, after our opponents broke our press, we were essentially playing four-on-five, which enabled the other team to take quicker shots and fall into our game plan.

"The rationale is to essentially trade off a quick two or more attempts at lower probability 3-point shots. Given the high pace required for the system, Grinnell shifts in five players every 30 to 45 seconds. Within each shift there is a primary shooter who will take the bulk of threes (or shots) during the shift."

D-III Player's 138 Point-Game Is A Sham Record And Shouldn't Be Celebrated By Anyone

I don't have a problem with this, except for the up by 70 and still firing away part.

That is a big thing for me but the overall mentality against inferior competition completely bothers me.

I'd rather see a TEAM performance like the way Butler just cut UNC to pieces than some kid shooting 108 times in a game any day.

Agreed.

Haters.

Why should he when he's shooting 50%? If you're shooting at nearly 50% then he can throw up 200 shots. It's not like he had 30 points on 12 of 48 shooting or something the kid was hot and his teammates said they kept feeding him the ball, I guess you're angry/disgusted at them as well?

It's DIII, might as well be a rec league game.

Great commentary on ESPN. Said the program was trying to get on the map and on ESPN and they accomplished that!

Kinda my sentiments. It's not like it was in the SEC tourney or something . Might as well be intramurals :D, who cares

You gotta shoot it if you want to get your name in the paper !

To us it might be, but to the players it is more.
