Trinity 15 Saint Xavier 14

In all reality Trinity shouldn't have to rely on one guy, I know they have good backups and as good as Quick is, he don't beat St X by himself.

Congrats to the Rocks. With all due respect to the remaining 6A teams - this was the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TONIGHT. Either T or X would / should beat the other 2 - IMVHO. this was a true "heavyweight bout".

Much adversity T had to overcome. Perhaps the truest test of the season. Way not to fold and to claw back. Mark of a true champion. At one time early - looked like X might very easily go up 21-0. Big MO on the other side of the field..But they could not hold it nor maintain it.

X fought hard -as always. Great game plan in the beginning. Too predictable and one dimensional in the end. Played

"Not to loose." Valiant Effort.

Congrats to Coach G on his career. ONe to be envied by many. Do not care for his methods, approach or sometimes seemingly classless antics - but again that is my VHO.

Congrats to the Rocks. Next game. Way to prove yourselves tonight.

I was mainly concerned about the two kids who left the stadium. No slight to CW - great kid.

He broke a bone in his leg. As to Jones im still unaware of his injury

Totally agree on how predictable we got in the 2nd half. Not slighting the T defense 1 bit but it was much harder to defend the tigers when we were passing the ball on 1st down. Great game, a lsu/bama type game.

Total yards: X-152.....T-326. First downs: X-8.....T-18. Rushing: X-32 for 67.....T-34 for 115. Passing: X-4/9/1 for 85 yds......T-21/37/1 for 211.

In the second half X had one first down (on a pass interference call) and a total of 11 yards of offense.

In the newspaper article this morning, T athletic director Dennis Lampley is quoted as saying that Quick was taken to a hospital for "precautionary reasons" after complaining of neck and shoulder pain. After the game, coach Bob Beatty said, "It looks very positive."

Both coaches said they were proud of their teams and Coach Glaser was quoted as saying that he did not want St. X to announce his resignation before the season, saying he thought it was a burden on his team all year long and that he thought it was unfair to "our" coaches but that it was "really good" to listen to former X players come back all year and tell him what St. X football meant.

St. X is St. X. They are always going to be a formidable opponent regardless of who their coach is.

I was getting updates from my bother and reading articles this morning the game reminded me of the state championship game my jr. year ('03).

From just reading, it sounds like the injury to Walker was a bit more tough for the Tigers to overcome than the Quick injury for the rocks. With also missing Austin Davis that put a lot of the offense on X's qb....which I would be willing to bet is why they became so predictable in the second half. I know as fans we, both X and T fans, would love to blow out the either, but these games are so much more memorable when they're close and competitive.

Good luck to the X seniors in life, you have a great foundation set don't be afraid to build on it. In the words of Tony Dungy, "be uncommon".

I also want to thank Coach Glaser for all that he has done, not just for me but for the entire X community. He is a great ambassador for the school and I'm proud to say that he was my teacher and coach!

IPMD!! '04

Or

Small crowd. Really low on X side.

Great start for X. Loved the trick play where Walker passed. They owned the first quarter.

Hated it when X team and fans cheered Quicks injury. I was there, don't tell me it didn't happen. I think it may be a neck injury.

Sorry Walker was injured and I hope the Dakota____ player is OK (he left on a stretcher too with leg injury.

Excellent defense both ways.

Dawkins over 100 yards... huge. X total team rushing maybe 75-80 yards.

X played really good pass defense.

Final point... why didn't X let trinity score at thi e end. They would have been down 8 but had a chacne to tie, then win.

I new you would try and make something out of the kids cheering a physical play. As soon as they realized it was more they stopped. Quit stirring the pot of a great game. Hope he is ok.

Attendance was poor on both sides. Another petty knock on X by you....did you count both teams fans????

I am not sure why we abandoned the passes over the middle in second half but it cost the game. Hats of to T defense.

X was trying to strip ball and realized T would not try and score, read the quote by Beatty in paper.

Go Tigers and I wish Glaser well and thank him immensely for all he has done.

Thanks and congrats to Coach Beatty, his assistants, staff, players and fans for proving once again why you are #1. GO ROCKS!!!

Bolded number 1. With all due respect I could possible agree with you except that I saw with my own eyes the X student section wave bye-bye to James as he was taken off the field. On and unrelated crowd note someone needs to tell your band that it is unsportsmanlike to play while the play is going on. The refs should have flagged it.

Bolded number 2. Glaser said in the paper that Walker was such a big part of X's passing game that he couldn't throw any more. As Trinity showed you can't rely on one player for everything. A perfect example of the predictability and one dimensional nature of Mike Glaser's offense.

Now that he's 0-6 against Trinity since the hat tip in Bowling Green I wonder if Mike might wish he would have retired after that game?

Quick said on Twitter that he "broke a few ribs"...

One last point and I'll leave it alone for a while. I salute the X players. They played their hearts out and left it all on the field. They looked as good in the first quarter as they have in 3 years.

You are incorrect sir. The cheering continued well beyond the celebration time of a big hit, and I have way more witnesses on the Trinity side to confirm such(and I did not have to count numbers it was soooo obvious). If you knew I'd make something out of it that tells me you knew it to be an issue.

I did not want to believe it either, I was shocked and as an X grad very embarrassed.

The St. X players were still jumping up and down on the sidelines as well while James was being attended to on the field by the training staff. The whole section I was in were commenting about it. No way to deny it. I saw the students waving as goodbye as well. It was despicable and I was shocked.

The playoff game always has much smaller attendence and should probably be moved back to school stadiums. Hard to tell how many people are in the suites but an oversold scholl stadium would have added to the atmosphere.

C'mon guys. Let's not do this. Let's move on....both X and & T. Let's celebrate a great game by the two greatest programs in the country (IMO :D), pray for the injured and congratulate Coach Glaser on a career any high school coach would be glad to have accomplished, and wish him well as he continues his career at St. X.

Maybe the football gods didn't like the tip of the hat by Coach Glaser after the '09 state game, but I have a feeling the football gods are going to shift their attention to the school on Shelbyville Rd. to make sure they're minding their Ps and Qs.
