Last week of the regular season. I would like to say congrats to all the 8th graders as they have their 8th grade night this week. Some may have already have theirs and I congrats them as well. Look forward to watching this talented group move up to freshman and beyond.

I believe that Campbell County Purple is scheduled to play at HMS on Monday to make up games that were postponed last week.

Turkeyfoot beat Royal Spring yesterday 40 - 34. They played in between games at the Toyota Classic Tournament. Great game to watch!!!!!

Correct, the 6th grade game will be a battle with the Jolly twins, Wilson and Lawrence for CC against Finn, King, Sisson of Highlands.

Congrats to the Walton Verona 6th grade boys coached by Dave Moeves & Chris Grubbs as they beat Twenhofel today in the 2nd Final game of the Dayton Tournament. Twenhofel jumped out front early but WV slowly got back in the game and knocked off the Breds a 2nd time to take the crown.

Highlands 6th grade best Campbell Co 30-27 at HMS to improve to 13-4 on the season and clinch the 2 seed in the tournament.

 

Alex Starkey scored 6 straight points off the bench in the 3rd Qtr to stretch the lead to 8 and the Birds hung on.

 

Holmes will likely be the 1 seed. Highlands has 2 more non district games vs Turkeyfoot and Ludlow.

 

In the tournament they will play the winner of Sharp/Campbell Co.

I would not count Ockerman sixth grade as a strong team. Maybe 7th and 8th - I did not stay and watch.

6th grade - Woodland, Gray, Highlands, Holmes come to mind

 

7th grade - Gray, Turkeyfoot, Ockerman, Conner

 

8th grade - Gray, Summit View, Ockerman, Conner

6th grade - Woodland, Gray, Highlands, Holmes come to mind

That is a very good list and IMO a very accurate list for each grade group as favorites

7th graders at Woodland won the region last year as sixth graders, and I know they've been up and down some but I like their guard play with Perrin and Miller... I wouldn't count them out....
