Boone Co Middle School Basketball looks to be well represented. Any reasons the best teams concentrated there?

Turkeyfoot 8th grade won tonight against Summit View 32 to 23!

I would definitely look for Turkeyfoot to be in a contender for Regionals. They have beat summitview twice this season.

Many of the Boone County kids play AAU. They are big schools also that get big turnout for tryouts. They also seem to get very good Coaching. And alot of gym time for practice.

7th graders at Woodland won the region last year as sixth graders, and I know they've been up and down some but I like their guard play with Perrin and Miller... I wouldn't count them out....

Don't forget Jaycob Pouncy. Yes, another Pouncy! Haha

That is a very good win! Anything can happen but I can't see them matching up with Grey! Good luck I am certain they will make some noise!

I would not count Ockerman sixth grade as a strong team. Maybe 7th and 8th - I did not stay and watch.

Last year, Conner seemed to have the most representation at the finals. I believe they had teams in 4 of the 6 champioships. Gray has always been strong in this conference in both boys and girls.

Ockerman and Gray's 8th grade got a big boost from movement out of Walton. McNeil at Ockerman and Cheesman at Gray both started on Waltons freshman team last year as 7th graders. Both really good players.

Ockermans 7th also benefitted from another McNeil and Camp Ernst 7th from Lay. All top notch players that Walton helped develop. For a small school, Walton will feel these effects for years to come.

With that said, WV has a very nice 6th grade team. My stepson plays AAU with a few of them and they have a very solid 4-5 kids that class who can play.

Wow that is some very good ball players leaving the program! The McNeil transfer has been discussed in the high school forum and all the boys can play. Cheesman if he is the boy I am thinking of was lights out! Definitely two of the better 8th graders in the class

I just saw the Pius 7th only lost two games in regular Season - to Conner early in the year, and to Ockerman the other nite. I would have to consider them a strong team in the 7th grade.
