Highlands 6th grade finished their regular season this morning with a blowout win over Ludlow. I stopped looking at the scoreboard when it was 54-16. Birds were drilling 3 pointers from everywhere. Finish 15-4 on the season and head into the District Tournament on Monday.

St Agnes is not in the NKMSL. They schedule 9-10 games each year against some of the public school boys teams. These games do not count in the NKMSL standings.

Ok, I will tell my son he did not play St. Agnes

this week.

 

I am sure your son played St. Agnes, but it was not a league game. St. Agnes does send a representative to the AD mtg. to get additional games.

Turkeyfoot beat Twenhofel tonight 41 to 26

What grade? In 7th grade boys, Turkey Foot beat Twenhofel 50-26. I believe they will play Woodland in the championship on Thursday. Does anyone have any other updates from tonights games?

Campbell Co avenged a 3 pt loss to Highlands last week edging the Birds tonight 25 -23. Birds missed a bunch of free throws in the game.

 

Brandon Finn earned all tourney for Highlands.

 

Birds finish season 15-5.

In 6th grade boys action...

3 seed IHM upsets 2 seed Conner on Conners home floor.

This game was back and forth with 3 buzzer beaters.

IHM gets out to an early lead 9 to 0. Conner answers and ties the game at 9 on buzzer beater 3 at end of 1st.

2nd qtr ends after Conner inbounds and goes full court in 9 seconds to score a buzzer beater lay up. IHM up 23 to 21 at half.

Both teams go on mini runs in 3rd and 4th. Each team had 4 or 6 pts leads in 2nd half. Conner was up 6 with 3 minutes to go in game and decided to run clock. IHM responded and brought it to a 2 pt deficit with 8 seconds to go. IHM rebounds missed free throw and brings the ball across half court. 4 Conner defenders converge on IHM ballhandler... he dishes the ball to the left wing. Bryson Jones nails a 3 as the buzzer sounds for an IHM victory.

How many basketball games have you seen that had 3 buzzer beaters.

Both teams played good and clean basketball.

I would have thought Highlands would have won this game. IMO, the 6th grade division is very evenly matched. I feel like Holmes, Gray and Highlands were on top but after that it is pretty equal. Congats to Highlands...15 and 5 is an impressive season!
