Just went on the website. There are no updates from tonight's games.

I think the league needs to have an updated website throughout the season. I'm not sure why there is not. The debacle with the brackets and inability to get info is frustrating.

 

On a side note I think every school in the league should use an assignor for refs. This avoids situations where the same two guys do every game at a location like IHM, Gray, RA etc. There are just a few school where this occurs and as much as we can say they aren't bias we all know they develop some. I think at the very least should not happen when hosting a tourney game.

Schools have the option to use the region assigner if they choose and most of the public school teams do. However that assigner has assigned the worst officials I have ever seen this year.

Up until 2 years ago IHM did use an assigner for refs. The officiating was not very good most of the time and the amount of money that we had to pay the assignor was insane. They found 3 or 4 refs that are not affiliated to an assignor. They work cheaper and in most cases do a better job than the assignors refs and they don't have to pay the assignor.

6th Grade boys...

Gray beat IHM 43 to 27.

IHM was down 14 to 1 at the end of the first. We could not handle Grays full court pressure defense. Good job by IHM to not quit. They kept playing and cut it to 6 at half.

Congrats to Gray for moving on to the 2nd round and good luck! Bring the championship back to Boone Co!

You must have a license. I am telling you that the guys that ref there now are as good or better than the assignor would send. I never said they are great but why pay more for comparable quality refs.

In 8th Grade girls regional- Gray beats IHM 32-20. Press didn't hurt IHM near as bad as it did in their first meeting- in fact, while Gray was pressing IHM got some transition buckets & kept it within 3-4 points the whole first half forcing Gray to call the press off. But Gray with too many terrific ball handlers and defenders and IHM too careless with the ball, so in the 2nd half they pulled away. Gray plays winner of Twenhofel & Campbell Co. tomorrow night.

IHM ends up with a winning record in the NKMSL and finishes 2nd in their District to Conner- very proud of them & their improvement from last year going up against some much larger public school teams with terrific talent.

Teams like Conner, Gray & Camp Ernst in Boone Co are extremely athletic & I have no doubt that one of those three will win it all, although Twenhofel is very very good as well.

7th grade boys: Conner beat Woodland in OT in a rematch of last year's championship game. Conner was already down one starter going into the game and lost big Jake Walter in the 2nd qtr to injury. Bench players stepped up big time! They play St Pius in a rematch of their district championship game. Easily one of the most exciting games I've seen all year!

Great game to watch especially in the second half. Either team would be the favorite Saturday! Good Luck to Conner and Pius!
