I have read on other sites in the past about realignment coming for the KHSAA and found an article from back in April's LHL High School Notes:

"The KHSAA will start the process of realigning basketball this summer. Commissioner Julian Tackett expects the Board of Control to have a proposal ready by November, and it would be finalized in January. That would give schools time to schedule for the 2013-14 season. Tackett said realignment could have its most drastic effect in far western Kentucky where consolidation will reduce the number of 1st Region schools to 13."

November is approaching quickly, just wondering if anyone has heard any leaks on the proposal?

I doubt much happens. I suspect Livingston Central will move into the 1st Region and Todd County Central into the 2nd. One of the Warren County schools will be moved out of the 14th District, likely to the 13th District to fill the void of Todd Central. And the 2nd Region will remain with 15 teams, even though the KHSAA has stated they want to avoid three-team districts. I just can't see it happening any other way.

The 1st Region would have only 14 teams in that scenario. And the 3rd Region also would be left with 15 teams where they're at already. So four districts will have three teams in the first three regions. You really think they won't make more of an effort than that?

Todd County Central moving into the 2nd Region is a very easy solution, but one problem there is that the only 2nd Region school they touch is Christian County, where there are four teams already. Do you ship one of those teams into another district as well? I don't know whether it'd happen, but I think Muhlenberg County is actually a better fit if not for the fact that the 3rd Region already faces a deficit.

A couple of things that I have heard regarding the 5th Region. The central time zone schools (Hart, Caverna, Green, and Adair) would be moved to the 4th. The other, which to me caught me off guard, was that 17th district schools (North Hardin, John Hardin, Central Hardin, and Etown) going to the 3rd, with Fort Knox staying in the 5th and adding the Bullitt Co. schools in a new 17th district.

Should be very interesting if any changes are made

How? I'm showing 16 teams:

Fulton County, Fulton City, Carlisle County, Hickman County (4)

Ballard Memorial, St. Mary, Paducah Tilghman, McCracken County (4)

Mayfield, Graves County, Calloway County, Murray (4)

Community Christian, Christian Fellowship, Marshall County, Livingston Central (4)

I suspect if there is regional realignment that the 10th Region will move further north.

I agree. I suspect Clark and Montgomery may be moving out to other regions.

Can't count on CFS having a team. If that was the district alignment then Marshall would live that.
