October 4, 201213 yr How much longer is UL going to be in the Big East? Until one of the big players invites them. At this point, it doesn't look like that invite is coming this year or next. Of course, if the last 18 months has taught us anything, it's that this realignment nightmare can restart at any moment.
October 4, 201213 yr He is a great defensive coach, look at what he did at UF and what happed to ttheir D after he left. Same players for the most part, Urban still head coach but the D was way down and cost them another shot at the BCS championship

Clyde, I have a feeling he leaves and it might be the instability of the football Big East. Do you think Strong has had conversations with Jurich about what new conference would be a better fit for UofL that might keep the coach at UofL?
October 27, 201213 yr I don't care what he says, if he leaves for a better situation and more money, no problem. That goes for any coach. People are stupid to think a coach will come out and say he's thinking about leaving. This is why they're all considered liars. Don't blame the coaches, blame the fans. I do agree with you here but in a Brian Kelly situation he told his players he was staying after he had a notre same offer and then he tells then differently a day later. Therefore there will be some bitterness there. However Charlie Strong is one heck of a coach and it will take a lot to keep him in Louisville. I think the school can do it but its gonna take them to leave to big east to do it

December 4, 201213 yr Being a cynic and looking at the history of coach-speak I never believed that Charlie Strong would stay at UL if a big-conference offer came about especially one from Arkansas. I have to admit that I now think I was wrong. Charlie said the following to Jim Rome: “Then I look at the players I recruited here. I told them to come here for me and this university, and then all of a sudden I get a shot to go somewhere else and I walk away from them? I’m just not cut like that. The bolded is what cemented it for me. You can't run from that. He's saying he's staying. Glad to hear it because a kid I know plays for him (and likes him ) and another kid I know is being recruited by him(and likes him). Good for UL. December 4, 201213 yr Don't panic. He's going nowhere, right RP? He's just not cut like that... My gut says he still stays...and that Mike Gundy will be the Vols' next coach...we'll see. That being said. If he does decide to leave. I am not concerned. Tom Jurich will replace him with an excellent coach and recruiter. This job is more attractive now, than it ever has been. Money is no concern whatsoever.

Gundy and Strong have both talked with UT and Hart is expected to announce the new coach within a week or so.
December 4, 201213 yr The only job I would leave for in the SEC is Georgia, Florida, Alabama, or LSU. None are open. As long as Nick Saben is at Alabama he is going to consistently dominate Arkansas and Auburn. When is the last time Arkansas played in the Sec title game? Auburn is win at all cost school and when you dont you get fired. Chizek won a national title 3 short years ago. How many coaches has UT had in the past 5 years. Steve Spurrier has not duplicated his success at FL at South Carolina. Lets be honest. Charlie would be on a short string at those schools. Those jobs have no security at all. Heck Georgia has even wanted to fire Richt the last 3 years
