Ryan Timmons Personally My Mr. Football winner next to Quick -Highlight

Featured Replies

I say that Timmons has a bigger upside than Quick because I have seen both of them play. Quick is a better route runner and has better hands. Quick is a more finished receiver. Timmons is simply a better athlete when it comes to speed and quickness. Its unreal! Great feet and hips! f he improves his route running... he is already scary, but he will go from Chucky to Freddie Cougar!

^ Except that Quick is taller and faster......how does that not help his upside? LOL

Quick is 2 inches taller, but nowhere near as fast!

Quick is physically tough. Is Timmons?

Sorry but you are flat out wrong

Should we not look at their respective track times?

Should we not look at their respective track times?

Exactly. To be honest if they lined up in full pads and ran a 40 their probably isn't a ton of difference. But to say one is no where near as fast as the other tells me he hasn't seen them both.

Official times from the KHSAA state track and field:

Quick: 10.7, 20.9

Timmons 10.84, 21.9

Don't confuse us with facts. James Quick is one of those rare and amazing HS athletes that you watch and say "he could play on Sunday" some day. I have not seen Timmons but Quick should be Mr KY Football.

Here is the kick off return to win the district championship Friday night against Anderson County. Before you say anything I know I know it's not Cincinnati Elder or Indianpolis Cathedral. It's still an impressive play. Also, Quick is slightly faster in the 100 and 200 but I believe Timmons has him in the 40. Timmons fasted recorded time in the 40 was 4.37.

This was a play Friday night to win a district champ. R/t to get on #sctop10 @FlyerFootball12 @frankfortsports @espn http://twitter.yfrog.com/659zoauqvbjqufddthgvromnz

I may have been wrong in saying nowhere near as fast, but in a race head to head, I am still taking Timmons. You are looking at 100 times and last year in track he was never pushed. In the state finals last year, he shut the burners off at 80 meters. This is the same kid that broke a Tyson Gay record as a sophomore.

I will agree that Quick is the stronger and more physical player.

What record was that? I don't see Timmons with any records.

I recall reading in the Lexington Hearld Leader in 2010. My have been a meet record, but nonetheless, the record that he broke was Tyson Guy's. The paper wrote a article on it.

Most who have seen both, have Timmons as Mr. Kentucky? Are you serious?

Yea I am pretty serious, not many people have seen both though. Alot of opinions without knowledge on the subject, I think the voters are guilty of this two, a lot of it ends up being word of mouth, and like you guys say, strength of schedule etc...
