Don't confuse us with facts. James Quick is one of those rare and amazing HS athletes that you watch and say "he could play on Sunday" some day. I have not seen Timmons but Quick should be Mr KY Football.

 

I have not seen the competition but quick should be mr. football. Validates my point completely.

I have seen both young men play. Let me say it is unfair to try and compare these two. They play in two totally different offenses and schemes. Their roles for each team are totally different. Both young men are very important to their teams success.

Why can’t we just watch the show that both of these young men can put on.

If there is any difference in the two young men there isn’t much.

Here is the kick off return to win the district championship Friday night against Anderson County. Before you say anything I know I know it's not Cincinnati Elder or Indianpolis Cathedral. It's still an impressive play. Also, Quick is slightly faster in the 100 and 200 but I believe Timmons has him in the 40. Timmons fasted recorded time in the 40 was 4.37.

You know what, that is a great touchdown....but you know what scouts will see after those first two impressive cuts? Nothing...he outruns the other guys way too easily....two had the angle. Sometimes being that far superior to your opposition it could hurt you.

Coach with the quote of the thread. These are 2 phenomenal athletes. Both are fantastic football players that will both be playing at Major D1 institutions next year. It is really uncalled for or should I say, unnecessary, to try and say so and so is better or not. 2 1st team all staters that would both deserve Mr Football. Kids play where they play. Whether they go where they are recruited or play where they live. Doesn't affect their ability whatsoever. They could switch places and do the exact same thing.........Quick will win Mr Football. And deserves it......but so does Ryan Timmons.

Come on now, you sound just as bad. This was Anderson Co you know. The best team FC has faced this year and last years State 5A runner up. This was not just another team. Anderson Co is NOT slow.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you seem to not be giving much love to Timmons. I fully understand your bias to JQ, but it concerns me that you are a RT detractor. Have you ever seen him play in person? Or would it even make a difference? Perhaps it's Trinity arrogance coming through.

 

Believe it or not, there are kids that don't play for Trinity that could start for Trinity. Give credit where credit is due.

I have noticed that too, no one in the Timmons side of this argument has said quick was no good, these types of post just seem well you said it best........

 

Again both great players. I will take Timmons over the two personally due to his creativity and his play making ability as a Running back, wide out, slot reciever, jet sweep, kicking game, and defense. But I also LOVE quick and what he brings to table. I would like to see him create more things on his own maybe with the strength of schedule and stuff he just can't do that I dont know.

He would start for us....and he is freakishly good. Don't get your feelings hurt, because Anderson Co has no team speed on kickoff coverage. If he did play for us, guess what? Quick would still be the star.

The latter show you haven't seen James play.....or at least not much....he creates just about every big play he produces.....ie the TD against X this year.....the Cathedral game, etc.....he rarely gets to just run under the ball.

Wrong, they would both be stars. Quick is fantastic but you need to take off the glasses, seriously, and I have seen Quick play many times. He is phenomenal. You haven't seen Granville Hayes along with a few others play for Anderson either. Hayes can fly. But we get it.:notworthy:

Man that must have not been me watching him play those times or looking at that Trinity film!!! Who was this mysterious football fan then????? HAHAHAHAHA.

Mr. Football is the best football player in the state. No offense to Timmons, but when he was a Freshman he was losing to teams like Pendleton County. James Quick was catching touchdowns in the state finals and winning state in the 200. There is no comparison between these players. Does Timmons have his choice of SEC offers?? Why would you try to compare these players? It is unfair to Timmons.

 

I thought it took more than one player to complete a winning football team, but I stand corrected. FCHS did have a couple of rebuilding years, and I believe they rebuilt their coaches too. I saw Timmons in one of his first games as a freshman break off a 99 yard run, and I new he would be special. Tough thing about high school is that it is difficult to evaluate players apple to apple, and I wouldn't even try. Also, some programs are very good at getting players in front of recruiters....Billy Hicks has always been good at that for basketball. I am sure Trinity, year in, year out has more recruiting visits than Franklin County or any other county school for that matter. So, scholarship offers don't make a Mr. Football either. That is why there is a vote.
