I believe that Timmons should turn out to be Mr. Football this year if Quick does not receive it. :ylsuper:

Every time Timmons touches the ball it's almost a guaranteed touchdown.

So you think he is Mr. Football IF? Quick does not get it? Is this a case for or against Ryan??? Timmons should be Mr. Football but we all know its gonna be tough to beat out the ties, and big city connections of a Trinity Player.

I am all for Timmons to win Mr. Football he lead his whole team to an undefeated season he's put up numbers that haven't been seen in a while for a kid his age, I believe that he is a winner over Quick, Quick just has his school in favor for him and Trinity being a power-house school usually always gets Mr. Football winners because of their class and schedule I just think it's time they let somebody in a different class get some shine. Put Timmons on Trinity at the RB/WR position he would have better numbers than Quick easily IMO.

There is a similar thread to this one about Conner's Cameron Fogle. All three players are fantastic, and all deserving. I am curious, what are the "real" requirements for Mr. Football? I agree with those that say it's a lock due to the fact that Quick plays for Trinity, and that is not taking anything away from him, he is a very good player, but he plays one side of the ball. Fogle, plays both sides, punts, return kicks. On offense he has lined up at reciever, slot, and running back. I believe that Timmons also plays both sides of the ball. I was personal witness to the Conner Vs. Franklin Co. playoff game last year, and let me say it was electric seeing both Fogle and Timmons in the same game.

Disagree. I'm not so sure that Trinity has had many Mr. Football winners. Someone from Trinity will answer that for me. I don't think they have had many.

I think Quick's national reputation helps him more than playing for Trinity. I'd also argue that Quick's numbers would be even more absurd if he didn't play for Trinity and have other playmakers on his team. If he played Timmon's schedule with Timmons' team his numbers would be equal to or better than Timmons' numbers.

Trinity has had two Mr. Football winners since 1986.

LOL are you kidding me? With all due respect the teams Ryan Timmons has faced are horrible just flat out bad football teams. Quick has faced the highest level of competition. A lot of people here in Ky don't realize just how bad Ky football is. If Quick, Dawkins, Wright, White & Hatcher faced the teams Ryan Timmons has faced they all would rewrite the record books. Now I have seen Ryan Timmons play & he's certainly a baller but until he plays better competition nobody will know what level of player he is.

For the record, I love seeing threads like this one, Jeffrey Canady and Cameron Fogle as Mr. Football candidates. Despite the belief that Quick has it locked it is good to see people still actively promoting deserting candidates. They all deserve some shine.

Mr. Football is the best football player in the state. No offense to Timmons, but when he was a Freshman he was losing to teams like Pendleton County. James Quick was catching touchdowns in the state finals and winning state in the 200. There is no comparison between these players. Does Timmons have his choice of SEC offers?? Why would you try to compare these players? It is unfair to Timmons.

Can't argue with that.

But I can argue with the premise. No offense to the defensive players and coaches at Nelson County, Western Hills, Letcher County Central, Frankfort, Scott, West Jessamine or East Jessamine... but I'd be willing to put down some serious money that James Quick would have quite a night running through those defenses. As for putting Timmons on Trinity... yeah, he might have a heck of a season, but Quick is doing extremely well and has the speed to match his skill (sitting state champion at 200m). I've seen a lot of really good high school football players... I haven't seen very many like James Quick.

I'm not so sure I wouldn't give it Hatcher over Quick.

I believe I would too.

To the Quick comments, he is a Great Talent one of the best to come out of Ky. But would he have the same success out of his current system?
