Trinity #1 in the Nation

Featured Replies

This does not surprise me at all. I actually thought they were already #1

I suppose this is nice, but in reality it means nothing but a big target on your back.

I think a program like Trinity always has that target on their back. They have for a long time, everyone wants to be the one to knock them down, so far, not many have been able to. Trinity is an impressive program year in and year out.

Everybody on here has said Maxpreps rankings don't mean anything! :D

I'm sure Simon Kenton could beat this cupcake, right?

They would probably shut them out, and have their JV in by mid 3rd quarter..

What do the other rankings say is my concern. Either way I don't think a ranking that high is justified at this point in the season. By the end of the season maybe, but while the boys are dinged up and there are some things to worry about on offense and defense we are lucky to even be nationally ranked in my mind.

Every BGP poster on here has said that "UK #1 Fan" means nothing [i meant Knows nothing].

they do mean something, but this a computer ranking. Human rankings they are #9

It's nice to see a KY team ranked #1 nationally. It reflects well on the entire state. Congrats to the Rocks!

I would think that you would want them number one when the Pioneers meet them in the State Championship.

Kinda surprised though. They have had a few close games, Yes, they are playing a powerhouse schedule. But they are 30 seconds from not being ranked at all. Either way, congrats Rocks. I will have to say, they are 1 of 2 teams I look first to see their results for the week. They are good.

On a unrelated note, I heard Quick is playing some D. Is that correct? And why? Are there schools looking at him that want to see him play D? Or is this strictly for Trinity?

Im with BigBird, its nice to see a team team on top of the list. When it comes down to it the ranking really means nothing but nice to see.

Does anyone really take these polls seriously? There are lots of top tier teams out there. How to know who would beat up on who any given friday night. I like that Trinity is getting recognition. I know how hard the program works. Kentucky teams who wouldn't schedule them have created the exposure as Trinity had to seek quality opponents. Are they as good or better than last year? I don't think so. They have not jelled as well this year. Last year, I had never seen a better team. Are there teams who don't get the recognition? Sure. In Indiana, Carmel, Ben Davis, and Warren Central play in the same conference and beat up on each other every year. They don't seek out of state teams because they have competition. Lose a game and you are out of the national picture. Could they beat Trinity? Each would give Trinity a heck of a game and probably win half of them. They are all bigger than Trinity , by the way. I am happy for the exposure, but take it with a grain of salt.

GO ROCKS!!!
