I would think that you would want them number one when the Pioneers meet them in the State Championship.

 

Kinda surprised though. They have had a few close games, Yes, they are playing a powerhouse schedule. But they are 30 seconds from not being ranked at all. Either way, congrats Rocks. I will have to say, they are 1 of 2 teams I look first to see their results for the week. They are good.

 

On a unrelated note, I heard Quick is playing some D. Is that correct? And why? Are there schools looking at him that want to see him play D? Or is this strictly for Trinity?

 

There #2 CB is out. His replacement is young and on the shorter side. They bring Quick in on big 3rd and 4th down plays against tall WR's.

The recognition is all very nice. BUT - knowledgeable folks understand what it really means. As has been said many many times on here previously -- this TEAM is a brand new edition. Stand or fall on their own -- not fair to compare to the past.

 

They are doing quite well as they are - but let them continue on their journey. Let us see who is still standing at the end of the year.

I see a great game decided by 1 or 2 plays; final score may not indicate how close game is but i don't see a blowout. No Way. No How. This T team isn't of year's past and this X team isn't of years past.

Actually we won't really know until the first weekend in December. That is to say, no one really knew how good T was in September of 2005 or 2007.

But as for the thread, as much as I enjoy T football, I do not see a national #1 right now. Honestly I will just be happy if the Rocks can bring home a win tomorrow night.

These are computer rankings. And you're absolutely right about the December comment.

Is Trinity a top team in the nation? Yes

Are they #1? No they are not.

 

They haven't performed in some of their games that they should be expected to if they are truly the #1 team in the nation. In the end, these polls mean very little other than generating discussion amongst schools from other states about one another. Although this type of discussion is what is ideal in settings like BGP.
