I have seen Cov. Cath once, but #58, a lineman, played quite a bit on both sides of the ball the game I saw.

Why is nobody bringing up special teams? The past few seasons, CovCath has had a couple of huge returns against Highlands. Add in the fact that they traditionally have a strong kicker, and they are going to be solid. Highlands, unless they fixed something from last week, has been way below normal standards in punt and kick coverage. Additionally, the place kicker is still getting his feet wet. In a tight game, as everyone knows, field position and/or scores in this 1/3rd of the game can completely swing the pendulum.

 

That said, if CovCath can't run the ball, they can't win on offense alone. You can't go one dimensional against Highlands. You have to make them respect your offense from guard to guard. If you can't do that, their speed eliminates the outside.

Interesting that you bring this up. I know that CovCath had soccer player Evan Talkers last year and he was very effective in kicking the ball into the endzone. Does CovCath have that weapon this year? Don't be fooled by Highlands kick coverage, lots of youngsters on that team early in the season and you can bet some adjustments have been made in the last few weeks. Luke Brockett's feet are more than wet and he has been very effective converting extra points and an occasional field goal.

I'm not fooled. I know that up until this point, they have not kicked, or covered kicks like they normally do.
