Sure Cov Cath has won 1 since and 5 before, but Highlands has won 5 since and 15 before I will take my ring that was earned by shutting out Cov Cath both games my senior year, and you nor any Cov Cath fan can take that away from me, no matter how hard you try, or down play it! This could be a very good game. Just looking at it defensively, the Colonels defense is 2nd only to Cooper in NKY right now and have held opponents to less than half of what highlands have held opponents to. I know they've played different teams thus far etc. but this could be a lot closer than some think if Cov Cath's defense shows up.

Bottom line on this game, we will find out how good Cov Cath's defense truly is in this one. The Birds running game versus the CCH D is the matchup of the night.

Highlands won 14 to Cov. Cath. 0 in 1968. Cov. Cath. beat Highlands 35 to 6 in 1969, for those that were having that discussion.

 

I think this years game will be an awesome game. Cov. Cath. has a great QB and an exceptional defense.

No you are correct, I just wanted to mention that CovCath started playing varsity football in the fall of 1967.

And that is wonderful for you, but the original comment that was made by a HHS fan to the young man stated that he must have never attended a game at HHS, when clearly he had and indeed had won!

I think HHS will win by the 7-14 point range but it will be a great game IMO. Northern Kentucky football is so much better when both of these teams are good.

In 44 regular season games between these two, Highlands is 17-5 at home and Cov Cath is 7-15 at home. I didn't count playoff games, because it's not clear who was the home team in those games.*

Since 1995, the Birds have only lost one game at Cov. Cath (playoff game in 2006). However, during that same span Cov. Cath has won 3 (mud bowl, 2001, 2006) at Highlands.

 

The Birds almost have to have a better winning percentage at Cov. Cath than they do at Highlands when the teams play.

 

Count me in as those who think that home field isn't that important (particullarly in the era of turf). However, I could certainly be swayed.

Just out of curiosity...any kind of show of hands for who will be there on Friday? Anyone interested in a "hi, how are ya" with some fellow BGPers before the game, at halftime, or something along those lines?
