August 29, 201214 yr I have a Red Sox I have had for close to 15 years. It was blue, but now maybe more brown. I wore it everywhere. Now it is my yard work-fishing hat. Fits perfect on my giant head perfect bill curve. I have always since I was a kid curved my bills with a coke can and rubber bands.
August 30, 201214 yr I'm not a big hat person and I think it's mostly due to the fact that both of my favorite hats were taken by girls that wanted to wear them only to never be seen again. One was a straw cowboy hat AKA my favorite country concert hat. The other was a John Deere baseball cap that was straw in the front and I loved that hat, it was honestly a hit at just about every UK party I went to. Now they're both off in hat heaven probably each in a girls closet or something. Would honestly love to have both of those hats back.
August 30, 201214 yr I love hats. I have two really worn out Atlanta Braves hats I have a Tiger Woods Nike hat I wear when I golf. I navy UK hat Along with about 8 other sports hats.
August 30, 201214 yr I have tons of hats but my favorite is a STL cardinal fitted hat that my mother in law bought me about 13 years ago when first married. She knew we could not afford much so for my birthday she bought a home, away, and Sunday fitted hats. Still have all 3.
August 30, 201214 yr Not a hat guy at all. Wear sunglasses ALL THE TIME however. Occasionally I'll wear a bandana when I run though I've thought about trying a visor. That's me, I don't leave the house without sunglasses, usually have at least two pair in my car. I wear contacts and have allergies so my eye's get dry and sensitive sometimes but sunglasses always seem to help with that.
August 30, 201214 yr I love my G.Loomis hat. Navy blue faded from fishing. The only hat I dare my kids to mess with for fear of broken fingers.
August 30, 201214 yr Well I had a UK hat that I liked when I was Wayyy younger.:puke: I didn't throw it away though, my dad wears it all the time now. I used to have a fitted Reds hat that I wore all the time, but one night a few years ago I got into a scuffle with another gentlemen and in the midst lost my hat. The End.
August 30, 201214 yr I usually wear one of my "franchise" hat from lids. I have a UK, Boston U, Twins '73 and my Reds hat featuring Mr. Red with the handlebar stache. I also have one of the old wool New Era Reds caps.
August 30, 201214 yr While we're on hats, you know what really grinds my gears? People that wear sock hats in the summer.
August 30, 201214 yr I have a hat collection and my favorite one is the one that I am wearing at the time . BTW I agree with Two humped Flat bills are declasse and so is wearing them anyway other than to the front , when I was a kid for a while one of the fads was to break the bill of your hat down so that it looked like a roof on a house or a cathedral cieling .
August 30, 201214 yr Author I don't agree 100% with all of the rules (see numbers 7 and 1), but I like this guy's approach, all the same. Ten Do's and Don'ts of Wearing a Baseball Cap - Yahoo! Voices - voices.yahoo.com 10. Pre-worn caps are a no-no. Artificially aged caps are as stupid and obvious as artificially aged jeans. Caps with torn letters or logos or frayed edges should be earned by frequent wear and not store bought. I've owned the same Pittsburgh Pirates cap for 20 years. I wear it nearly everytime I cut my grass or play softball. It has yet to get torn or frayed. 9. Don't wear a "10-gallon hat". My aforementioned college buddy Bob refused to wear any hat that couldn't be conformed to the shape of his skull within a couple of hours of wearing it. Bob referred to such head-wear as a 10-gallon hat after those worn by cowboys. Any hat that stands straight up off your forehead like a billboard should be avoided like a psychotic ex-girlfriend. 8. If you are wearing a cap for your favorite baseball team, you should only wear a hat that the players wear on the field. No fashion hats. That means no pink hats, ladies. If the players don't wear it, neither should you. With so many clubs wearing special alternative hats or having different hats for home games or road games, you have plenty of options to choose from. Throwback hats are acceptable. This obviously doesn't apply to basketball, football, hockey or NASCAR where a ball cap isn't part of the uniform. 7. Do not wear your hat backward unless your name is Ken Griffey Jr. and you are taking batting practice. Nobody pulls this off. Nobody. Wearing your hat backward is liking wearing a t-shirt that says, "I think I'm cool." 6. Do not wear a hat with a slogan on it unless it is directly tied to a specific company or team. A "Just Do It" cap is acceptable. A cap that says, "My wife ran off with my best friend and I miss him" is without question out of bounds. 5. Do not wear a cap from a bar, restaurant, tavern or saloon, unless that establishment is a national chain. If you insist on wearing a hat that isn't related to your favorite team, golfer, tennis player or race car driver, then it should be a generic company logo (Nike, Fila or even your own company) or it should be a generic place. Wearing a hat that says "Hilton Head Island" is fine. Wearing a hat that says "Salty Dog Café, Hilton Head Island" is unacceptable. You are telling people that you went there on vacation and thought the place was restaurant was so cool that you had to buy a hat. You might as well tattoo an "L" on your forehead. 4. Guys, if you have a mullet, do not pull your hair out of the back of the hat into a ponytail. That right is reserved for women. If you have a mullet, you should cut it off. If you insist on keeping it because: ...you play soccer or ...you still think it is 1988 or ...you think you are Mitch Williams then you should let it hang freely out of the back of your hat. 3. You can't wear your hat slightly off center unless you are currently playing or have played a professional sport. You have to have skills before you can go all Brandon Phillips or Orlando Hudson. If you can't back it up, you can't push it off center. 2. Take the tags and stickers off your hat. How is this still around? It used to be known as "mental wear" for reasons I've never fully understood. This was going on in the early 1990s during the whole "New Jack Swing" era of music and fashion. Unless you are sporting a high top fade or listening to Boys II Men on your IPod, then you shouldn't have tags or stickers on your hat. 1. The style of the brim is up to you. Curved is still popular and the "flat like a pancake" look is in, as well. 15 years ago, nobody had the flat brim look. But it is back.
August 30, 201214 yr Gotta say I don't agree with 7 and 3. 7. I see nothing wrong with wearing a hat backwards, but if you're on a baseball field, you better wear it with the bill in the front. I grew up that way, and still do it today. You don't wear a hat backwards on the baseball field. That's my number 1 rule with all of the baseball teams I've coached. 3. I've always worn my hat slightly off center. I don't know why, but I've done it since I was little and still do today. It's not drastic by any means. My parents say my grandfather always wore his slightly off center too. Now, when you're wearing it greater than 15-20* off center, then that is too much. As for 8, the one twist on that is that I think the non-ball player wearing hats are OK as long as the hat is in the team colors.

It's totally acceptable to wear your hat backwards in softball. In fact, I frown upon those who wear them straight.
August 30, 201214 yr My favorite hat for years was a maroon hat with the big Minnesota "M" on it with crossed hockey sticks behind it said "Gopher Hockey" across the back. Got it from my uncle when I was in middle school and wore it all the time. I lost it sometime late in high school. I still miss that hat. Now I most often wear my solid red Louisville hat that just has the cardinal head logo on it. I do have another Gophers hockey hat that I wear a lot when golfing... it has yet to bring me any luck this season as I continue firing off rounds over 90.
