How many transfers does Beechwood have?

Featured Replies

Yes, and contend for state titles.

Now let me ask you an incendiary question right back -

If Simon Kenton kept all their talent, would Simon Kenton have a winning record every year?

If just SK alone got to keep all their talent, probobly yes. If Campbell, Dixie, Ryle and Boone all got to keep thiers as well, maybe not.

I'd like to see your assertion put to the test! Beechwood Football is a house of cards waiting to implode because it depends upon out of district enrollments and transfers. Have a bad year or two and that flow stops, and your coaching staff knows it. That's why they do things like send coaches to their opposition's practices!!!!!!

Here you go. Not sure why this is suddenly getting personal.

Nothing personal. I am just irritated that it takes 3 pages of posts for us to agree. Honestly, those posts still don't answer my question as I am specifically asking for state Board of Education rules not the KHSAA or local district ruels, but I am moving on.

Assuming no one sees it different (Roman Empire?), then we agree that according to state rules, there is no difference in enrollment rules between county school districts and independent school districts.

My point is, posters on here often act like there is a difference between independent districts and county districts and there isn't. To that point, similar to what someone mentioned above, there are children from Ft. Mitchell attending Beechwood, Cov Cath, Notre Dame, Holy Cross, Villa, Moeller, St. X., Kenton County Schools and Boone County schools.

1. Unless we're subjecting the parents to a lie detector the answer is obvious.

2. No. It's not the same IMO.

3. If parents intent is to secure a scholarship so that they do not have to pay for college they're not paying attention to NKY football. How many kids in the last 10 years have had their college education completely covered?[/quote]

Right on point or for that matter in any sport.

The transfer rules are archaic and rarely are they enforced evenly. While Beechwood has a stellar academic reputation athletes transfer for the athletic programs.

Did I miss the part where someone said the BOE or the KHSAA has different rules for different types of schools? You asked the question about 48 different ways and it was answered. There is no difference in the rules. Schools make up their own rules.

Some folks here will never understand. Pointless to try and present facts when facts only get in the way of their fabrications.

But their claim to fame is winning 1A championships. That is what they are selling. My kid would not be challenged playing their schedule, nor would he be challenged in their practices. He simply would not develop at BW. He needs other large, athletic, mobile linemen to play and practice against and you are not going to find that at BW.

And as a skill player, what good does it do you to have inflated statistics against undersized defenses?

What was that SK-BW score again? If I remember correctly it was BW who was not challenged very often in that game.

If just SK alone got to keep all their talent, probobly yes. If Campbell, Dixie, Ryle and Boone all got to keep thiers as well, maybe not.

How many out of district players do you think Beechwood had in it's heyday between 1991 and 1997? You have no idea what you are talking about. They're way beyond having the possibility of imploding. I think your worries should be for your own program who is not yet anywhere near that point of comfort.

If your kid would not be challenged by the likes of Cov. Cath, NCC (remember the college sized line from only 2 years ago), Holy Cross, Dixie then maybe Butch Jones or Marvin Lewis could help him out. Don't forget Highlands was on Beechwood's schedule 2 years ago. Are you telling me that your kid would have dominated Brett Eyckmans last year, BW's all-state Div. 1 bound lineman? Wow, he must be special.

Better than to have been...How would you describe SK? Take away the brief Miles/Chad era and that program is laughable, and they are once again settling into their rightful place of irrelevancy. You think small schools hurt college opps? I would argue coming from a losing program hurts even more. Couple that with a sub standard academic reputation and it doesn't bode well.

So these schools are not allowing out of district students due to overcrowding. I can see that because it happens at Beechwood in the elementary. That may open up once they get all the new classrooms built at the end of construction. That being said, there is nothing in the KHSAA rules or the state education rules that prevents a school from taking an out of district student, right? The districts that don't allow out of district students have made that decision for their own district/school.

My point is people talk like independent school districts have different rules from the state than county districts and they don't, right?

From a KHSAA perspective all schools, public and private, play by the same rules.

And I believe the same is true from a state school district perspective. The only big difference between a county district and an independent district is how their district borders are drawn. As long as a school district doesn't have its own restriction in place, a student can attend any district he wants regardless of where he lives. There is no difference between independent districts and county districts in this.

So.... an out of district student can attend any high school he/she wants.

The exception is schools may limit out of district students due to space issues.

I want this to be clear because many posters on BGP have the misperception that independent districts have different rules than county districts.

They do have different rules than some other school districts.

It's just not different in the eyes of the KHSAA.

Different rules on out of district students attending?

We've already determined that with Boone, right?

Ok, let me speak clearly. I know you like to run these little circular posts in threads with condescending and patronizing comments like the one above, but in case you truly misunderstood:

By state Board of Education rules, is there any difference between out of district students eligibility to enroll at a county district versus an independent district?

WOW. You asked a question . I answered it. You take offense. What happened? Condescending? Relax, Chief. I answered your darn question. You keep saying there are no differences and say "different rules on students attending?" and I answered it.

Boone has different rules than BW and other independents. You didn't mention anything about State BOE.

You are correct. Boone Schools made their own rule which, again, we've established.

Post #78 and post #81 in this thread both referred to STATE rules. We have run a simple question through two pages of posts. All I want is a simple, direct answer. If you don't know, say you don't know. No problem.

I will try one more time.

By state Board of Education rules, is there any difference between out of district students eligibility to enroll at a county district versus an independent district?

That is an open question to anyone on here, not just Clyde.

Already answered.

 Where? I missed it.

And if you can't find it, chalk that post up as another patronizing one by you. I just don't get why you can't answer a direct question.

Looks like I answered it a few times in the posts you quoted.

But that was never the issue. It's just what people like to hang their hat on.

KHSAA and state Board of Education are not the same. I was asking about the state education rules from post one and you never responded to that. Your answers kept referring to the KHSAA and you never said anything about the state BOE till the last post.

Forget athletics and eligibility issues.

There is no difference between an independent school district and a county district. Only when

an individual district puts in its own rules is there a difference.

Precisely.
