August 11, 201214 yr I do too, but all he'd be doing is trotting out the same old tired Bible phrases as ammo while ignoring the ones that didn't suit him.Alabama Larry may not have been the best at getting his point across, but he did put himself out there by sharing his convictions and he genuinely cared about YOUR soul. He wasn't just looking for an argument, he wanted to do everything in his power to share the Gospel of Jesus because he wanted YOU to go to Heaven with him. I miss him and I admire him for that attitude. Except for in the OT, which is the basis for all of Christianity's anti-gay outrage. Next time you go harping about queers doing what they do, make sure and gouge your eye out when you glance at a pretty girl who's not your wife. The old testament is not the only basis for discerning the Biblical view of marriage and homosexuality. The NT also contains writings that condemn the practices of sexual immorality, sex between like genders and fornication. Likewise the NT writings, including Jesus own words, outline that marriage is between a man and a woman and sexual activity outside of that relationship is fornication and alduterous, and thus sinful. It is not my intention to argue with you. I am willing to study this issue further, however, with anybody who is willing to be respectful and civil.
August 11, 201214 yr But it's a cute little flow chart. Little is right! I can't read it unless I enlarge each box on my Iphone!

August 11, 201214 yr God did not make Eve in order to populate the Earth. Keep fishing, you'll catch one. Doesn't Genisis state that God's original plan was for Adam and Eve to be immortal and to the be the only people on Earth? I believe Genesis continues that it was due to the fall that man met mortality. If I am correct, the accuracy of this chart continues to crumble.

I believe Genesis continues that it was due to the fall that man met mortality. If I am correct, the accuracy of this chart continues to crumble. Adam was intended to live forever and alone. Eve was created because Adam wanted a companion/helper. God tells them to be fruitful and multiply. IT wasn't till the Fall that death for humans would enter the picture, but they probably already had children prior to Eve taking the fruit.

Watusi, would you be willing to share some NT verses that make it clear that homosexuality is a sin?
August 11, 201214 yr I respect your opinion. I do hope that you're right. Because if the Bible is correct, and I fully believe it is, Christ is the only way. No man enters Heaven but by Him. What does this mean to you? I take it to mean that I accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior, not that I believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. First chapter of John. I'm not sure how you can separate them. Yes, I believe the Bible (Gods word who became flesh) from cover to cover.

Yes, I believe the Bible (Gods word who became flesh) from cover to cover. I'm not sure what you are talking about in most of this. I have several problems with a literal interpretation of the Bible, not the least of which was discussed earlier by mexitucky and Getslow. The books were written by men and then other men over 100 years later chose which books to include and which ones not to include.

I have several problems with a literal interpretation of the Bible, not the least of which was discussed earlier by mexitucky and Getslow. The books were written by men and then other men over 100 years later chose which books to include and which ones not to include. This is definitely fodder for a new thread. Discussion of the origin, authenticity and whether the writers were inspired or not is a great topic but it will overtake this thread. Why don't we start a new thread for that discussion?
August 12, 201214 yr Watusi, would you be willing to share some NT verses that make it clear that homosexuality is a sin? Be glad to. I will collect my thoughts and post them. May be tomorrow afternoon.
August 12, 201214 yr Here's my problem with many people that argue against scripture. Most have never read it.
