Alabama Larry may not have been the best at getting his point across, but he did put himself out there by sharing his convictions and he genuinely cared about YOUR soul. He wasn't just looking for an argument, he wanted to do everything in his power to share the Gospel of Jesus because he wanted YOU to go to Heaven with him. I miss him and I admire him for that attitude.

The old testament is not the only basis for discerning the Biblical view of marriage and homosexuality. The NT also contains writings that condemn the practices of sexual immorality, sex between like genders and fornication. Likewise the NT writings, including Jesus own words, outline that marriage is between a man and a woman and sexual activity outside of that relationship is fornication and alduterous, and thus sinful.

 

It is not my intention to argue with you. I am willing to study this issue further, however, with anybody who is willing to be respectful and civil.

God did not make Eve in order to populate the Earth.

Doesn't Genisis state that God's original plan was for Adam and Eve to be immortal and to the be the only people on Earth? I believe Genesis continues that it was due to the fall that man met mortality. If I am correct, the accuracy of this chart continues to crumble.

Adam was intended to live forever and alone. Eve was created because Adam wanted a companion/helper. God tells them to be fruitful and multiply. IT wasn't till the Fall that death for humans would enter the picture, but they probably already had children prior to Eve taking the fruit.

Watusi, would you be willing to share some NT verses that make it clear that homosexuality is a sin?

I respect your opinion. I do hope that you're right. Because if the Bible is correct, and I fully believe it is, Christ is the only way. No man enters Heaven but by Him.

I have several problems with a literal interpretation of the Bible, not the least of which was discussed earlier by mexitucky and Getslow. The books were written by men and then other men over 100 years later chose which books to include and which ones not to include.

This is definitely fodder for a new thread. Discussion of the origin, authenticity and whether the writers were inspired or not is a great topic but it will overtake this thread. Why don't we start a new thread for that discussion?

Here's my problem with many people that argue against scripture. Most have never read it.
